Default chiptunning issues

Hello!

A friend of mine that has 02 Turbo tried to upgrade the software and he is facing some issues.

He wanted to have 1.3 bar and 7100rpm, however after several test car does not go that high in bar or rpm.

chiptunning company told him that DME is not possible to reprogramme higher. They do not know how to do it. it seems that there is a firewall that does not allow them to do it.

Do you have any clue? Can you recommend someone that can upgrade the software?

We are in Spain.

thanks

i am told that 1.2 tunes are in reality closer to 1.1 and a half! tunes and that your friend may be running up against that inherent limitation? even by raising the rev limit to 7200.

There are many videos in internet of people that goes 341kmh at 7100rpm. At stock rpm you get to 327 and car revs stop at 6650 or 6600 aprox. With stock k16 limit is 1.5 as far as I know so, 1.2 or 1.3 should not be an issue.

There is a lot of wrong information in this thread..

Fact>> Stock K16's will taper off the amount of boost that they produce. Typically by 5500 RPM's the boost will fall bellow 1bar.

You will never see 1.3bar or 1.5 bars from stock K16 turbochargers at Redline. You can see boost spikes early in the RPM range.

The Rev limiter can be set anywhere you want. I don't raise it past 7K typically if one has the stock dual mass flywheel with my tunes..

The Speed limiter also needs to be raised, if it isn't the engine RPM will never reach the limit.

i meant simply that tuners that call their tunes "1.2 bar" tunes are in reality closer to 1.1.5 not full 1.2.

i wasn't contributing anything ( what else is new lol ) beyond that lesser known info. you're a qualified tuner so you would know that.
