Apology and Should I Buy This 2001 996 Turbo

Hope you gave the car a thorough test drive. Around the block ain't sufficient.
Be sure you get a PPI done.
How does the CarFax report look?
I googled the car's VIN and got some weird hits, two sites with Kanji or Chinese scripts for web addresses. I didn't go to either of them. Is the car a USA car?

If you need the hydraulics system redone, you can have the system rebuilt for less than the new parts. Give these guys a call:

, I made a poll a little while ago, and was suprised at the result, ofcourse there are a million variables, but overall, the vast majority of people spent under $2k a year.
here is the link to that poll:

My wife is now having major regrets about granting permission for me to buy this car. She is not happy. I told her that some annonymous people on Rennlist think I'm getting a great deal, and she just said, "I don't want to talk about it."
Please don't be offended that she doesn't seem to value your opinion. I still think the joy I will get from this car will outweigh the current marital discord!

Keep in mind that it's quite easy to find a new wife. Finding a clean TT at a great price, however, can often take many months.

Problem has arisen: Seller previously claimed that 30,000 mile service was done (the car now has 38,000 miles on it). However, the shop that supposedly did the 30,000 mile service says they actually didn't change the plugs, and that it would cost $800 to change the plugs.
Because our agreed-upon $40,500 sale price was premised on the seller's incorrect assertion that this $800 job of changing the plugs had already been done, I've asked for the price to be reduced by $800. Now the seller is saying no, and I'm digging in my heels too.
So it looks like this $40,000 deal may well be scuttled over an $800 spark plug issue. Which, frankly, is fine with me, because it gives me more time to shop around and will make my life easier on the home front!
