Default Kline w 200 cel cats installed

just a quick shout to sam at by design. had that sucker waiting for me on a sunday morning so i could install it quickly and test it on the neighbors. it's awesome sounding, a bit more "guttural" than OEM and yet it purrs at idle, although we get the richer burble at cold startup for the richer mixture. as it warms it settles into a great unobtrusive yet clearly modded exhaust gurgle.

burble, gurgle, whatever it sounds great! yet, might indeed be quiet for some. but not those tending toward a more *civilized* exhaust note. it suited my needs perfectly as i didn't wan't "hey look at me" exhaust.

over 3k? @wot? it HOWLS. but at 3k cruising, it has a *bit* more resonance ( which i suppose is a more genteel definition of *drone* ) but i think a bit more cabin more resonance over stock is to be expected. it doesn't DRONE at all.

all in all, hard to imagine a better exhaust on a mezger motor. again, a big up to sam ahdoot@bydesign. thanks man....

Sam is a great guy and he has been around for a long time dealing with these cars, as an enthusiast/owner and now also a businessman.

oh no.. there is a minimal increase in cabin noise. which i believe to be a semantical distinction. eg if it's "pleasant" it's "resonance". if it's "annoying", it's "drone". or that's how i interpret the language.

this is increased resonance inside the cabin and it's insane at wot. i did a driveby and my buddy was suitably impressed. there can't be a better note at the price. it's well made too ( seemingly )...

i've known him to beat or at least match most stuff. but then there is the advisory aspect of his assistance which is critical when modding since one must heed the experience of those that have gone before, and some parts go well together, and some less so! i sometimes think of sam as my turbo's concierge lol. he won't be offended by that i'm sure. he's a good guy. hit him up.

What did your system cost?
Do you know the increased HP for the 200 cat vs. the 100 cat (assuming they offer a 100)?
Do you know if the 100 cat would still avoid the drone?

What brand CATS does Kline package with the exhaust?? Something few people ask but pretty important if you want something that will work a couple of years down the road. My research shows that 5" or larger HJS or Emitec race CATS are the way to go for flow and long term performance... NOT ALL CATS ARE CREATED EQUAL.. Quality CATS make up the bulk of the price of the exhaust as the top ones are almost 1K each..

yes, i'm aware of that. these are not asian in origin. i asked about whether they were hjs cats which apparently they can be made available? but i think these are not. they are from the uk though and i believe it's "topline" that makes the components. whoever that might be.

@fastboy you'd have to hit sam up re price since the setup is flexible pricewise.. i think. the decatted sytem is estimated to be about 35-40hp+?
but i'm feeling a good 20+/-, easy. and sorry, i couldn't answer specifics 200 vs 100 but the 100 is available as is the decat package + manifolds?
