Chad and I made the drive today from NH to EPL in CT to watch and video a custom dyno tune with one of our SpeedTech X-cellerator 2.5 catless "RACE" X-Flow exhausts, K16 billet turbos and EPL custom dyno tune. It was a long day, got up at 3am and started driving at 4am - arrived around 8:30am at EPL in CT. We spent a few hours talking and videoing and took a few pictures. It started raining very hard, flash flood warnings posted everywhere, so we headed out and drove back to NH - in a torrential downpour the entire way.
The 996TT handled the heavy rain at high speed with phenomenal ease. After dropping Chad off at the office in NH (430 miles driven so far), I headed home - an additional 33 miles of back road country driving. After 430 miles in the car and still loving it, the best was yet to come. The 996TT devoured the soaked back roads like they were dry pavement. I found myself not wanting the ride to end! Even after 463 miles of rain driving! I took a slightly longer, twisty road route to the house and finally pulled in around 7:30PM, still not wanting the ride to end, 15 1/2 hours after leaving. These cars are absolutely phenomenal in the rain - I have always felt that way and today just reinforced it again. It's been a fairly dry year so far and I lost touch with wet weather driving. What a wet weather machine and fantastic product these cars are...!
After all that, it turns out the video camera failed (it was working last night) and although we were recording and pausing on the screen the whole time, nothing went on the tape, so all we ended up with are a few still photos. Oh, well....it was a great drive and we hung out with our friends at EPL for a while.
Here is a picture from today - I had hoped to post a video, but it was not meant to be...the combination of the SpeedTech Exhaust and the Alpha 28 turbos sounded fantastic - I wish I could share it. I think the owner will be very pleased when he gets his car back!
If anyone is interested in a SpeedTech Exhaust & EPL tune bundle or stand alone product, please contact either Chad or myself. Video next time....

biglicks,
Yes, great move on Chad's part!
thompa,
We left during the earlier stages of tuning - EPL still had a lot more to do. I'll find out once it's completed.

That is my car.
I haven't seen the dyno charts yet, but I was told that they were able to get 537 hp at 1.35 bar. I forget the torque, but believe he said well over 600. Unfortunately, my new lwfw clutch was slipping at this level and I was told that they would need to back down on the boost to about 1.2 to not destroy my new clutch. I will be very happy with 500 hp and near 600 torque at the (4) wheels.
I will not be picking up the car until early next week.

+1 agree on good handling in light and heavy rains.....Just drove through downpour Friday Chicago rush hour traffic last Friday- have EPL street tune- no other mods- handled like a champ- can't wait for winter!
