I hope it is ok for me to just post the link from another forum here instead of entering in all the data?

Thanks for your consideration.

I couldn't get your link to work (says permission not allowed, I am guessing it got towed or perhaps an incorrect link).

Here is the correct link: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/a...ive-650-a.html

To be perfectly honest, you won't see $59k. From what I have seen there are some 24/20G cars with 50k miles selling for $50k with more in the way of additional upgrades (CF everywhere, welded coolant lines, big $$ wheels).

I think if you hold out for the right buyer you could see $52k plus or minus a bit. I know KBB will tell you more, but the market is a bit softer than KBB.

When I was looking for a turbo it seemed modified cars were harder to sell. I would say 50k would be about right. KBB seems to be extremely optimistic compared to what the market is showing.

Did you see the thread on 6 speed where the guy dropped 50k on a modified car and got 50 miles from the sellers house and the engine blew? Man does that make me feel sick...

Wow, no don't recall seeing that post on 6. Having driven my car with the current tune for almost 19k miles and 4 years now, I would have thought that if something was going to go "clunk" it would have by now.

My goal with Akram and Todd was a tune and mods and boost settings that would be conservative yet put out the gains which is why I did not go beyond the level I went. The past two years have only seen one time with 104 octane for a two day track event at a fast track in TX.

Otherwise, the smaller tracks I run are more technical so I just turn the boost controller off bc 470ish hp/tq are plenty on those tracks. There are many levels that can be done on these cars as well as many places to do the work both on hardware and tune so I wonder who the tuner was and what the reason was that a modded car blew a motor. I can't say that I have heard many reports of this from reputable shops.

I get it though, it is not for everyone. Thanks for your input.

I would agree modified cars are tougher to sell, unless you can find someone interested in exactly what you have put together. In that case, you can generally command a slight premium.

It was Divexxtreme's old car (Protomotive BIG Build = 900whp+) which he sold to a guy in Ohio who drove it for 2+ years and then sold it. Stories were flying, but it sounds like the new owner in Ohio had cut some corners (or whoever worked on it had) including things like improperly modifying fuel lines which put a window in the block.

A car like yours with the 18g and supporting mods should run forever, though...so not quite the same level of living on the ragged edge.

yours is the kind of tt i keep referring to ( elsewhere ) that i would feel safe buying even without a ppi, just based upon your knowledge/care of the car. in spite of the occasional tracking.

i wouldn't take less than 50k.. if it was mine. ok, maybe 49,900. gl with the sale.

X2 it seems the clean low mile documented cars go for a premium over the high mileage, limited records cars.

i'm sure that's true. i bought a hi mileage undocumented no records car that had been tracked mercilessly with all the mods i needed, if not wanted, and it has been flawless ( peeling painted calipers and all.. track rash lol )

...albeit from a reputable source whom i trusted implicitly to sell me a car devoid of major issues. i gambled right and would do it again, though i don't recommend it for everyone.

I understand and am and will be negotiable when that right buyer comes along. Thanks again for the clarity on the car that went clunk.

From all the pricing posts I have seen from Dock, he firmly believes he will stop the price erosion on the 996TT right here on RL by posting in these threads.
