Thanks!
While we're here, and so I don't have to start a new thread: I want to add motor mounts to my list.
Has anyone simply replaced the factory mounts with fresh factory parts? Or would I be foolish not to go for the 964 RS setup while I'm taking care of it?
I currently AutoX and canyon carve, and I'm planning the occasional DE, but the streetability is one of my favorite thing about our cars, and I have gone down the path of adding more NVH than desired to previous modified cars, before. By all accounts I can find, it sounds like the 964 RS mounts are a good compromise, though.

I've put fresh stock motor mounts on several of my past 996s, including my current Turbo. They tighten things up really nicely compared to a set of worn OEM mounts, and at ~$75 each, much less expensive than the alternatives. OEM mounts are so easy to swap as well...
OEM 964RS mounts are likely a good compromise for slightly stiffer mounts without adding much NVH, but typically discounted to ~$175 each, and they will still stretch out and need replacement semi-regularly. Plus you have to source all the right bolts and washers to adapt them to 993/996/997 style mounts and they are a bit more fiddly to install.

I went with a set of RSS semi-solids and never regetted it. There is slightly more engine/intake noise but for me it makes the car feel "alive".

Ohlins finally on. And painted console Attachment 1280397Attachment 1280398
I was originally going to go Ohlins, then got a good price on the PSS10's.
My car was much more slammed on the JIC's but I don't mind the height on the PSS10's. Any higher though and they wouldn't work. The Ohlins appears to let you go as low as my old JIC's.
Would love your honest input/feedback over the PSS10's when you're clear/able...

Let me get some more time with them. The dfv definitely has its pluses. But I'm also pretty low and it's a little bouncy in the rear. But I want to get 1,000 or so miles on them and let them break in and settle. But overall I am happier over the pss10's!

Well today I swapped out the ignition switch thanks to my key being stuck and finally when it did come out the car still said it was in there! Hopped on the ole' interwebs, clicked Rennslist, read a bit and now my 996TT's key turns like it was brand new (my neck and back are a different story). Thanks RL forums!

I finally drove it! I pulled my motor and trans out for some work in January. I shattered my knee in March, and just got healthy enough to put her together. I did the Sachs 2.5 clutch, GT3 power steering pump, oem GT2 slave conversion, 1300cc Cobb injectors, Filters on turbo, and 350mm 997 rotors w/ Hawk HPS pads. Also all new fluids throughout. Sambo hooked me up with a new tune for the injectors and filter set up and let me tell you, DAAAANG! Pushing 20psi/1.38bar and she feels amazing. The clutch and slave was a worthwhile investment for the power level, as were the 350mm rotors and Hawk pads. Now to finish my carbon vinyl wrap on my steering wheel (its wood, not my cup of tea)
