Every 996TT that I have seen dyno'd without placing a large fan on the IC/rear bumper will lose power. The only way to see what one is doing is to datalog IAT, retarded timing and requested boost.

I always tell folks that you are burning your monies if you aren't datalogging on your dyno run. With these cars you need to have fans placed on the IC's. There has to be air movement over the IC to cool the charge air. A third fan should be placed over the intake so that the engine isn't ingesting hot air rising over the exhaust and cats.

With that said, it looks like the dyno is a little low based on the NA cars that were run. I will dyno consistant 65WHP gains on 92 octane pump gas (running to 7K) And 100 ft lbs of torque is typical. The Superflow is really calculating high torque gains, the calibration might be off.

Hey Kevin,

Do stock 996tt usually lay down around 340Whp?

On my dyno they range from 350's to mid 360WHP.. What I have noticed this last year or so, is lazy wastegate springs. The cars are getting older and the actuator spring aren't as stiff as when they were new. The wastegates will be blown opensooner vs later. Too cure this one can crank the actuators 2 turns or 2mm.

I was at this same location last fall.

My EsDTLs are lower than yours Polar - at 1Bar theyre saying a max of 51 whp for mine (less than 11% of peak). I have stock wheels.

Kevin - do you know where the EsDTLs come from? Is it estimated or calculated?

But look where the torque is! Its on the left of the curve where its very usable. You can choose where you want it and you can get big HP if you move it to the right, but which will drive better?

My torque peaks at 4500rpm and, at 1.0Bar (vs Polars 1.1Bar) is a bit lower than Polars (mine is 511), but my HP is higher than his because my curve is higher and later than his.

I bet Polars car feels amazing with all that torque at 3k!

This thread is in no way meant to take away from Kevin's awesome flash. I've thoroughly enjoyed my car ever since I got the UMW flash. I just wish I would have taken a dyno of my car before it got flashed as a comparison.

That dyno looks similar to mine. I also have the UMW flash as my only other mod is also exhaust.

Mine spikes up to 426 at the end though. I think the reason why mine is weird looking is because of the solid motor mounts I have. But I'll let Kevin chim in if true or not.

When I order the flash i asked Kevin if he can have the Tq curve later as i track the car. Not sure if he did that as mine also peaks tq later.

OP, what gear did you use for the pull?

F1crazydriver, that's some good power your laying down for a flash/exhaust. Your custom exhaust is definitely letting your turbos breath. I noticed your hp dips around 5500-5700. Member Sanyata was asking earlier in this threaf if it's noticeable. I didn't really notice it, do you?

Kevin,

Is there any easy way to tell if this would help me or not?

BTW, the new plugs, coil packs, and precat O2 sensors made an amazing improvement with the tune.

I'm really digging the result. Low end torque as measued by my butt-o-meter is drastically improved which is where I need it in the city.

I do feel it. I thought it was the solid motor mounts.

A lot of 996TT dynos exhibit that slight dip before registering peak WHP - I recall seeing it discussed on 6SO.
