Default A/C won't respond... any ideas

A couple days ago, the weather was so nice that I decided to open the windows and the sunroof and turn off my perfectly working and very cold A/C and enjoy a cruise. That evening, I went for a ride and tried to turn on the A/C and the controls light up, but the A/C button does nothing and no blower motor at all. I have checked the fuses and they are fine. Let me know if there is something else I can check before I take it in to get fixed.

First there is three fuses , D6 and C7 and E7 for the control unit. When you select the a/c ON can you hear the fans starting for the condensers in front of the car....Also there is a clutch engagement on the a/c pump, You should be able to see if the clutch engage when selected ON by looking at the compressor wheel and see if it is only the pulley which is turning or the complete assembly.... Look at the center of the wheel , if it is turning your compressor is engaged. If it is not turning you can have a low level of refrigerant or a relay malfunction.... The relay is in the relay support #2 behind the rear passenger seat in location #4.

As it turns out, it was a bad ignition switch. Fixed the switch and now all my electronics including the A/C work perfectly. After not having my car for 3 days while it was in the shop, I realized how attached I have become to it. My other cars just don't make me feel the same as this incredible automobile.

Yes, it seems that the back end of the ignition switch is an Audi part that is made of plastic and is obviously not made to the same standards as the rest of the vehicle. I'm just grateful that it was a simple fix and was not something more involved.

I just saw this and immediately thought ignition switch, as I had the exact same problem last year.
