Default so would you

be afraid of a car mechnically sound, but had paint work on the front bumper and drivers door? no accidents from what i can tell probably door ding or scratch and front bumper who knows could be rock chips or scuffed.

As long as the price is right, the car has no underlying damage, and the work was done/paint matches to your satisfaction, then why not?

Agree with the bucket of truth post above. If the car checks out and you are satisfied, then great.

no way to really know the truth as the current owner doesn't know, but story seems to jive of scratch etc on door. so what is a fair price on an 02 stock with roughly 54k miles.

minor interior wear, reprayed bumper and door and one or two minor dings that hopefully can be PDR'd?
i am thinking like 38k as is or 39k if dings fixed and door resprayed to blend better plus new front tires that are shot.

The owner apparently was upset enough about the scratches to have the bumper and door resprayed yet left worn out tires on the car?

You really need to know the extent of the damage that resulted in the front bumper and driver's door needing paint work.

Also, that both front tires are shot raises my concern the damage is more extensive that just some scratches/etc needed attention.

If the door needs respraying to blend in then the first respray wasn't very good.

I would advise caution.

Sincerely,

Macster.

I agree about the front tires being worn. dealer said was pretty normal, but I kind of don't agree. like something was wrong with the front and causing issues.

If it is done right and not the result of a wreck, then there is absolutely no downside if the work was done right. I Just recently had my front bumper resprayed and clearbra'd as the rocks chips drove me nuts. Spent over $1500 and another $500 for the clear bra to have it done right at one of the local shops that the Porsche dealer only trusts.
