Default What are Turbo Twists off a 2001 worth?

I would like to set my '01 TT up with a set of track tires on 8.5 wide fronts and 11" rears so I am thinking of selling the stock twist wheels 8" front, 11" rear wheels, they are in 9 out of 10 shape. What are they worth?

Or does anyone know where I can get a pair of 8.5" GT2 twist wheels?

Probably not much if they are solids. Hollows are what everyone wants and will pay decent money for.

Sunset, Suncoast, Wheel Enhancement would be my first shopping stops.

hollow, 800 for the set seems common..if in good shape...

solids...500-600 seems the average amount for all 4.

I'm pickly...they cannot have curb rash or I pass.

Hollows are $1,000 +/- if in great shape. $800 would be a good deal. GT2 TT wheels show up every now and then and rightfully command a higher premium. Now if a set of oem GT2 10 spoke wheels showed up I'd be all over them.

The good news is mine are hollow spokes, (meaning they do not have the cavities in the back) and there is no curb rash.

Painted your chrome wheels? Really? I was told by several wheel refinishing companies (i.e. www.rimpro.com ) that the chrome finished needs to be chemically stripped before repainting. The process is toxic enough to be EPA-regulated. Hope you did not sand blast and inhale the toxins yourself.

Nope. Just used Dupli-Color "Shadow Chrome" paint kit. No sanding or anything required. Looks good - although I may go to full gloss black instead of "Black Chrome".

Is it powder coating which would require some nasty crap to make it stick - nope....but it's paint and I can touch up if needed.

My track wheels are 100% stock alloy...if only they didn't have some rash on them.
