Near mint condition car had never seen snow or rain. Full carbon fiber/aluminum trim package including str wheel, aluminum dials, full power and heated seats in supple leather, digital sound package. Both sets of tires had 75% tread left, second set of rims are 19" Giovanna forged. Full services done at 15k and 30k, 30k service was done early as part of prepping car for sale. Bought the car in January from the wife of the original owner who had passed away. It was in Kalamazoo MI.

I paid $42K in November for an 03 stock with 37K miles. It had a few issues though.

Would you mind posting what the issues were?

Rear tires shot, leak in driver side radiator, needed new clutch slave, no records from 1st owner.

Props to Mike Kelly for leading the replacement of the slave

You are generally right in that the 04 cab only gets a $3k premium over an 04 coupe. However, an 04 cab gets a $12k premium over an 02 coupe according to NADA. That's using the lower miles for the 02 and the higher miles for the 04 cab.

Without the mods, NADA says the car is worth 43 and change. I'd be shooting for 42k max or walk away. Thats me. I can be patient on these things. Then depending on what a given buyer thinks the mods are worth, set the price from there.

yeah would say high 30's to low 40's. owners say more but they are out there. Plus the 997 turbo will keep falling and push the 996tt down further. I would say bottom out at mid to high 20's in a few years.

The 997TT seems to be holding the line pretty well recently. I'll be picking one up in a couple of years. My bet for the OP car is still mid to high 40's

How many such widows do you think there are where their husbands left the 996 TT's behind ....

So how can you base the price of a car on just one isolated incident.

On a side note, i ran into a guy who had just bought a two owner '03 X-50 Seal grey/black 17,000 miles, full carbon interior awith the star wheels.

The car just didn't look cared for. The hood had a rust spot, the rear fender had a deep scratch, the front spoiler was scratched with a filthy interior. There was something not right about the car.

I could have bought that car for $$52,000 but i gladly passed on it.

I am an owner now, but was a buyer just earlier this year, and have watched the 996TT market very closely the last couple years. Right now, high 30's will typically yield a higher-mileage K16 car, probably a tip, and probably a 2001 MY. Might also have a cobbled-together hodge-podge of aftermarket parts on it, without the factory hardware included in the sale.

At present, IMHO, mid-40's seems to be the entry price of admission for a clean stock (or stock-ish) 996TT. Not talking estate-sale deal of a lifetime type transactions, since they're outliers.

Oh, and I would be shocked if the 996TT market bottoms in the mid 20's for an average example. YMMV of course.

I am not sure what your point is. I am not putting any price on anything. I am just reporting the purchase I made. I also looked at several others in the same price range at the time. This was the best one so I bought it.

I am not the only person who posts here who bought a near mint or close to it 996TT last year for around $41k.

When I bought mine there were several threads going at the time with guys just like me reporting they got similar deals. And good deals are still out there you just have to find them. You usually get the best deals in the winter months. Hit this link to see a few current listings:

I think you where smart to pass on that 03 X-50.
