Default Fabspeed exhaust

Hi
I have a 2004 911 turbo tiptronic
I have a fabspeed 100cell cats and their single back box that is marked twin turbo gt2.
The exhaust drones between the 2000 - 2600 rpm range.
BUT sounds incredable under full power.

Is there a way to put something that is switchable so when driving hard it is like it is and when on the highway it is quiet?

I also like the HP gais it has given me.

Cheers

i have the same exhaust, and its louder than hell, gonna try a modified stock exhaust. It gives me a huge headache on long trips.

I have the same exhaust on my tiptronic and if the drone bothers a passenger I just switch to manual mode and keep the revs around 3k.

I had one and switched to a Europipe. In my opinion, the Fabspeed is poorly developed and not well-constructed. If you really want to drive the car, why should one have to tolerate that drone right in the rev range of normal highway cruising/commuting?

Hey Guys, yes our first generation system was loud and aggressive, before we converted to the twin muffler system. The system made great power and sound awesome outside the car but it is loud in the cabin. Our new system has 3 optional sound levels so you can get the one that best suits your needs. If the system is too loud, i would look into getting some exhaust cones which help restrict the flow and quiet the car down. Or I can offer you a really nice deal on our new generation exhaust. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

HI Alex
great that you are on here.

The exhaust cones do they also repuce the power out put?
What was the HP gain from this system?
What is the HP gain from the twin system?
Is it posible to put the newer twin rear muffler system and keep the cats the same?
If the rear muffler system is changed would I need to have the tune of the car changed?

In comparing noise, the current system is not too loud when driving aggressively, it is just the drone when at the low reves and under light throttle 2000 - 2600 rpm

Also do you have a switchable valve system for the rear twin muffler, or something that could go inbetween the cats and the muffler and be switched?

Thanks in advance

Can you ship to Adelaide Australia?

I think you need to ask about the drone at 3,000 rpm in the Gen 2. In my opinion, this exhaust sounds better from outside the car than from inside. A bystander cannot experience the resonance at normal cruising speeds that forces a downshift while doing normal commuting, but the driver/owner/purchaser does. Best to try one first. Perhaps the company will tell you who in your geographic area has one. AS

Hey Alex:

I have the gen 2 Fabspeed system and it drones at about 2800 RPM. Please answer on this formn what the you mean by "exhaust cones" so all of us Fabspeed owners can be enlightened.

Thanks,

Breeznn

Hey Guys, they look like ice cream cones with small holes through out it. You put the point end right into the inlet side of the muffler and then just tack weld it in. The exhaust gases will then have to pass through it and create restriction which helps quiet the car down. They are sold in some local mufflers shops and I believe they are made by Vortex. Let me know if you have any other questions.
thanks,

Dynamat or similar sound dampening in the back can make a huge difference. Almost any aftermarket exhuast will create a louder sound inside to varying levels. Some sound dampening mat in the rear can help cut down the drone inside the cabin.

Mikelly wrote about adding matting and has a small DIY on another forum.
