Men who drive Porsches...not the "marrying kind"
Pretty sure, most of the committed Porsche Nuts on this board don't buy one to attract females, nevertheless, that is the stigma, created by these guys that ruin it for the rest of us
Men who drive Porsches or flaunt other flashy possessions are usually not the "marrying kind," a new study suggests.

I have a very HEALTHY BULLSH*T for that study. I drive a "flashy" F430 convertible that my wife LOVES and am very happily married. As a matter of fact, my local club of sports car guys (L ambo, Porsche, Ferrari, etc) - most of the guys are married and regularly include their wives.
I hate promotion of stereotypes of any kind.... i think the study is biased to what they wanted to convey

Well I'm sure glad I got silver instead of flashy yellow.
What's funny, is one of Mrs. SSST's friends asked her if I was having an affair. The car was her gift to me for our 30th anniversary.
Maybe she's trying to tell me something. LOL!

Yeah, agree with the above posts. In a somewhat related issue, what is with the many drivers of Boxters, (no dish on Boxster, as it is a fine car) and other newer model 996, and 997s, who dont respond to my flash and wave while meeting driving down the road. Just last Saturday, in town on a not very busy road, two of these drivers didnt even respond. One gave me a slight nod. Point is, there is a difference between the true enthusiast who owns and drives a sports car for the thrill of the drive, verses the guy who buys one to be noticed.

4 kids and happily married for 15 yrs.
On a side note, the wife has commented on multiple times how my car (2002 X50) attracts a LOT more attention from guys. So much for the theory on the article.

Heck the latest TV Porsche commercial shows a school Mom driving a new yellow turbo picking up her kids at school! Don't think she wants looks from other women...hmmm maybe she does!:-)

It's mostly other guys who ooh and aah over the car.
I've had a few women take an interest, like a girl in a Z4 that wanted to race, and some other old fart's eye candy that was looking for an upgrade (I had more hair and a nicer car than the other guy ).

I had a lady take interest in my Turbo...she was parked next to me at the grocery store, and as I unlocked the car to get in she was walking up to her car. She came around to take a closer look and said "beautiful car". She then peeked inside and said..."Uhhhh...it will only do 80 mph (with a look of disappointment on her face)???". I said..."Lady, that's the tach you're looking at".
