seat switch "panel" replacement
I have a bad seat switch which requires me to replace it with a new complete pane I have already purchased. My question is after I remove the 2 screws on the front how do I get the powers wires out? I have even removed the seat but cant figure it out. Has anyone ever done this?

I took mine off to paint them. What's holding them in once you remove the screws is the leather. Pull the plate away a little and you will see that it is attached to switch board with some molded in clips. The switch board is tucked in behind the leather. Just work it out of there and then you can detach the plate from the switch.

SSST, did you compleatly remove the switch from the car? I need to change the complete panel . I have the switch board removed from the leather but now I need to get the wires out. I just cant firgure out how to remove the wires. If anyone has the PDF of the 996tt , 996 or boxter with the seat breakdown that be helpful.

No. I left the switch connected, I just removed the covers so I could paint them. I do seem to remember looking in there and seeing some zip ties holding the wires, but didn't try to remove them.
I guess you could cut them at both the switch panel and the harness and then just re-run them using a more accessible path. (that's not professional advice, so proceed with caution and at your own risk )
Good Luck.
