Default 996TT I/C' vs. GT-2 I/C's

Could someone explained the main difference between them. How much more efficient does the GT-2 is over the 996TT?

If you're talking about 996 GT2 / X50 intercoolers, the external fins have a 1/4" (rough estimate) extension over the regular 996 coolers. Efficiency wise, we're talking maybe 2-3% better as the internal part of the core is the same.

The new GT2RS / 997.2 cooler is an entirely different core and roughly 20% more thermally efficient than the 996 GT2 cooler.

There are some really good options out in the aftermarket right now that would be much more cost effective... I'll probably be selling my GT2/X50s in the spring when I upgrade.

Mike, have you seen some of the GT2RS / .2 cooler threads? For ~$900 new they are clobbering some $1500-$3000 aftermarket coolers in thermal efficiency.

Earl, I hadn't until you posted your DIY thread... I don't go over to sixspeeds anymore, so your posting it here was a good thing...

unless the 996 gt2/x50 coolers unless they were free dont waste your time.

there are options out there in the form of the 997.2 coolers which are very nice and some othere in the 1800$ range that will provide much better results.
