Nice looking car. I've been looking possibly for a TT for a couple of months now. Where do you get your "priced to sell" point? You are $5k over NADA Clean Retail of $45175. Most cars like yours that are selling are priced between NADA Average Trade, and Clean Trade or $36K-$39K. I might be wrong, but I've been following prices pretty closely for the past few months.

Its a buyers market and there is a lot to choose from. GLWTS

Actually nick, that is not even close for your assessment of pricing. I have been following the market for about 6 months now even after buying mine. THe cars selling in the mid to high 30 are typically 01 cars and not in the best of condition. It's a buyers market if you don't care about condition, miles, etc. He might be a couple K above about what it's worth but it's not an absurd asking price.

2002 w/ less than 30K miles for less than $40K? Really? You are in for a very long search for that price. OP you are in there for asking price.

You couldn't be more wrong on your pricing info. I know because I just sold my 2001 w/19k miles and it's wasn't anywhere near your suggested range. Show me any w/28k miles at your range that aren't story cars.

To the OP - good luck. The prices have firmed up over the last 8 months, so be patient - you'll find a buyer.

For those "bargain" shoppers, with porsches, you will absolutely get what you pay for... Anyone stupid enough to let such a nice car go for less than his asking price is either hurting for cash or, well, stupid.

More pics and details might help with your efforts to sell. The one pic does look great.
I was hoping to find a GR when I was in the market.
Be patient, it will sell - especially if you give the car's history in your listing.
List price is in the right ball-park, IMO.

2002 had the stiffened A pillars, glove box, internal improvements (that are never talked about...I think cylinder and/or valve related....was a thread on it elsewhere...subtle and not something Porsche will admit to...), still had copper audio (so cheap to upgrade...), and is old enough to be affordable. It is cheaper to mod it to super power than to wait for an x50 car with modertate real power improvement relative to cost. Just my 2c.

Gen 1 ceramics, from what I can see, are more a pita than anything....hugely expensive to replace. Getting rotors that are steel plus good pads (and all the options) is the better route. Tons of DE guys dump the ceramics for aftermarket brakes....says a lot.

I am the third owner of the car, and it has always been in the central IL area. Originally ordered from Isringhausen in Springfield, IL. The original owner had it for a short time. I knew the second owner and he had it until 19,000 miles. I bought it in Dec, 2006 and have put on approx. 10,000 miles. So, that is the main reason that I am looking to sell. With two young children; and very busy schedules, I simply do not have the time to enjoy the car.

I understand that the market is all over the place right now for 996TT's. I agree, there are a variety of conditions & mileage out there. This is a lower mileage, very clean car. The original owner very tastefully optioned it with the white aluminum dials, the carbon shifter, handbrake, and steering wheel. The aluminum door sills and red stitching & belts are very nice. It is completely stock.

I put on new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's last year.
