Default The Turbo has landed......

Finally! She is now at the dealer (arrived this morning). A few misc items to take care of before official delivery (probably Thur am) so I'll be taking a bunch of pics when I get her home later this week. I did snap a few this morning.

Specs:
2003 Turbo
Slate Grey Metallic (photos do not do it justice. Amazing in person!)
Natural Grey leather (again, amazing in person. It's really black but a nice upgrade)
Sport Techno Wheel
Baby seats for the 2 year old and 5 month old

Have a few misc items I am going to install this week as well:
Tint
Sport pedals (aluminum with the rubber grips and Porsche script)
997 SSK
Garage door hack
Non smokers kit
Clear/Smoked side markers
Dension Gateway 500
Thinking about adding the "quad" tip for the exhaust. (SUGGESTIONS WHERE TO BUY?)

It's about FN time! (jk) Slate gray is beautiful. Lookin' good!

What kind of wheels are those?

FWIW, I prefer stock exhaust over quads.

Keep us updated

The wheels are the optional Sport Techno wheels.

That color is ridiculously good looking. There are other 2 things you need to do also, the poor-guy exhaust mod and if you are keeping the stock suspension get full camber up front (-.7 to -.8) thats all you can get out of the TT but it makes a reasonable difference in handling (less understeer)

By the way how do you compare the 6TT vs the 6GT3?

I had no idea how great this color was going to be in person. Plenty of people told me how nice the color is but I had no idea form pictures. It really is amazing.

Forgot to add that the X73 is also being done before delivery so the suspension will be dialed in

What's the "poor-guy" exhaust mod?

As far as a comparison, I will have a better idea later. We have a great trip planned to Pinehurst this weekend so I'll get a good back roads feel and then I'll get her on track in May.

Right off the bat though, the clutch is TOTALLY different. It's light and "wimpy" comapred to the 3. ALso, the mechanical growl of the 3 is not something I'll get in the TT

Poor-guy exhaust mod:
Basically all you do is drill a hole with a drill thru the exhaust pipe, you can tune the sound by making the hole bigger. I am at about 1" diameter and will be soon going larger
It has been shown that this mod increases power a bit by eliminating backpressure, also the turbos spool up a bit quicker..
It also gets rid of the "vacuum cleaner" sound the exhaust makes in our cars

Some owners do the GT2 clutch system conversion to eliminate the clutch pressure accumulator (and potentially future clutch system woes) and the vague feel.

Interesting. Any further info you could provide about it? Or search parameters I should use?

That hole looks larger than 1". Unless I'm seeing something wrong, you also cut off a huge section of the top of the exhaust?

I'll make you a deal... let us know your thoughts on the X73 (street ride/comfort and track performance) as that is something I am considering in the future for my Turbo and I'll tell ya where you can get the conversion kit.

I believe the conversion is offered by EVOMS.

The "other" forum (6speed) has a few threads on it... "GT2 clutch conversion"...

BTW, congrats -- you are one very patient guy!

Patience has been learned only recently with a 2 year old and a 5 month old.

I will definitely get a writeup done on the X73 after this weekend.

Thanks Michael!
