Guys, the raised rib or backbone that you see is the reinforced steel backbone. It is manufactured or extruded on the exterior of the outside liner.

The piping has multiple layers to provide strength and protection. The inside is smooth, however it has a articulated inner liner to allow for bends.

I have this setup and I noticed much faster spool up, easily gained 400 rpm in my spool up. Before I could here my turbos spinnng when coasting down after hitting the throttle. Now I can hear the turbos when I accelerate. It almost sounds like a supercharger. however, labor is high on this mod. So I did it with clutch install.

Thanks for the details Kevin. Very nice looking piece of equipment. You may be the new leader in my inlet piping search!

Very cool, and I am in the same boat. I am hoping my clutch holds for a while longer (Sachs/GT3RS/LWFW combo) but I have the GT2 slave parts now too so want to do some of these pain in the **** things together.

How many hours would you say it saved you think by doing the clutch at same time?

quite a few. The biggest pain is that you have to bring the motor down a bit to do the tubes. If you do the clutch, you can bring the motor down anyway, so it worked out. you probably get rid of half the labor of the plenum by doing it along with clutch stuff. I have heard some say that they can do it without dropping the motor. I'd like to see that.

Yet another example of a well thought out, solid piece of engineering. Kudos to you, Kevin!

Another top quality product from the best Turbo guy...way to go.

(514 hp from 3.3 liters, mainly due to the GREAT UMW turbocharger)

Kevin, I am thinking about this for my next mod.... since I already have the very quickly spooling alpha 28 turbos installed, what would you say I might expect with your piping added to it? Nearly instantaneous?

thanks

Kevin - can you post photo of the whole kit? Or is that all the parts in the first post?
Dou you have photo installed on engine(out of car)?

Red9, I haven't taken a picture installed on a engine. My post #8 shows the piping installed on the left hand turbocharger. You have the same thing for the right hand turbocharger.

The picture in the first thread shows the rear side intake plenum. The two hoses will connect to the CNC'd couplings that are welded to the modified intake.

I don't think you can ever get rid of lag. However, I can video how my car spools up sometime in the next week or so when the snow goes away. just to give you an idea.

Kevin:

Is it a complex installation? There seem to be a lot of clamps too. Are there any precautions or warnings you can give us for those who intend on installing ourselves?

Thanks

Complex, if dropping the engine or removing the gearbox>then yes..

Easy if the gearbox is removed for a clutch change. It can be done with the engine dropped 8 to 10 inches. At that stage the engine is almost out of the car.
