New to Bay Area: detailer, mechs, & painters anyone?
Hey guys/girls,
Can anyone give me a hand on the following?
1. Detailers...anyone know of one that is well known within the porsche community and is hands down one of the best in the bay area? We have detailer's domain on the east...anyone on the west who looks after cars
with a passion?
2. Any mechanics that are willing to treat cars like its their own and are very
knowledgeable? any mechs known by the porsche community that everyone goes to?
3. Painters...can anyone recommend a place that are perfectionists that try and
get it to close to factory? any talented people in the bay area? Like Patarek Bros on the east...anyone on the west?
Sorry dont know much contacts on the west...pls help!
Thanks very much!
Jim

I've used one indy which came highly rated but I was not impressed. Learned later it had changed hands. Several other indys have been recommended to me but they're in out of the way locations and not convenient to use.
For (3) I assume you are referring to car painters? I have had very good collision/paint work from Bostrom's in Livermore. Call Jim and speak to him about your automobile paint needs. Jim owns a Carrera Cab and appreciates the quality of paint work these cars deserve. If you call Jim tell him guy with blue Boxster, SY Cayman S, and arctic silver 996 Turbo sent you.
Fremont Collision Center comes in 2nd. It's paint work is pretty good but after giving car a thorough inspection I had to send a car back for some touch up work that I didn't expect would be needed. I've viewed the work since and it is perfect. Get car back next Friday. If you use FCC tell them you know a guy with an arctic silver 996 Turbo that will be inspecting your car...
Sincerely,
Macster.

Take your car to S.Car.Go in San Rafael. Rob is the owner there and Pat is a master Porsche mechanic with certificates in everything porsche related. Give 'em a call.
I trust them completely to get the job done right the first time. Been a customer since 2005

Thanks Larry!
Very kind of ya...
Hey Jim, sorry about that and welcome to the Bay Area (come out to Santana Row one Sat AM and meet the guys)... we do service the hopped up cars (the ones the dealers are afraid to touch.) as it's probably better that way but I try to keep on an even keel with them and "send" people so they don't get too mad at us
Most of our customers use : http://www.justwaxed.net/ (Bob) . Not sure what level your looking for but he does paint correction and concourse level stuff so it's not your run of the mill wash/wax routine

Same questions but audio. Most reputable shop in the bay area for replacememtn of head unit, amp, speakers, and amp in an 05 TTS cab?
I would like a stock look with a very clean install by someone who actually knows Porsche.
