put GT3's dry sump in a boxster, you can have my RS any time.

and with the current wet sump, the only porsche current p car i would take over box would be GT3, GT3RS, CGT and GT2. other than that, i'll take the hair dresser's car ;0)

you don't mention 996 twin turbo with the dry sump engine, any special reason?

Hair dresser car...!!! ha ha ha....I guess some need all the help they can get in life, even if it means hiding behind an automobile.

If Porsche stopped producing rear engined cars (911's), there would no longer be a Porsche, at least not in the VW business model.

Every single Porsche model, except for the 911, can be replaced by an equivalent Audi/VW/Lambo model.

Not so long ago, there were VW/Audi/Lambo car designs rejected since they were thought to compete with Porsche models (back when PAG might actually own VAG). There was a beautiful Audi model proposed, but that was too close to the Boxster, so it was killed.

Ha! I was the mid 20's punk driving your 2001 Boxster around everyday!

I still am for that matter! (just a late 20's punk doing it now)

Here's to being that 30 year old punk soon to be driving your 996TT around !

I was barely 30 years old and was proud to own it. It was a ton of fun and a sharp looking car. Unfortunately by 2006 I saw them on the roads everywhere. The prices had plunged to the point that punks in their mid 20's were driving them on a regular basis. I always dreamed of the 911 since I was a little boy (remember that ad where the 10 yr old kid goes into the Porsche dealership and tells the salesman he'll be back in 20 years after seeing the new 911? Google it if u haven't ...it's awesome!) The final straw came when I saw a 200 pound 50 year old lady who parks in my office building ramp buy one. It took all of the cache away (no offense to larger women).
I then bought a 996 911 Cab and love it. Of course, then I got the Turbo itch and bought a 993 Turbo as well. Love em both. My point here (which is certainly not to offend the groups mentioned....sorry) is that it is a fun car but to say that it doesn't matter what car u drive in today's society is crazy. To buy more car than u can afford is even more crazy, though. If u have the means go with the 911. If not go w/ the Boxster. Both are great cars and beat the heck out of almost everything else for the $$$$'s spent.

I was 29 when I bought my 02 Boxster new. Bought my (new to me) 996 Turbo at 35.

Driving that brand new shiny Boxster, I got a kick out of all the old gray haired guys in Caddys and Lexuses who wanted to drag race from stop lights and cut me off in traffic.

When your grin causes the other guy to grimace, you've already won.

Got it. I understand driving the RWD 911s could be more fun and more dangerous.

Yes.
Trailing throttle oversteer is something you don't forget the first time you're introduced.
