Default Pricing on oddball combo car

I've been eyeing 996 TT's again now that pricing on some seems to be dipping down close to $30k.

A couple locally are being listed close to $40k but methinks are worth a lot less. Specifically, there's a dealer with an '03, Zanzibar red, wood, tip, chrome wheels with 53k miles. They've been asking $44k for quite a while now.

What do you guys think is a fair offer? I'm thinking $31-32k based on the weirdness. I can get over the color and wood, and I'm actually looking for a tip ... though the wheels would probably have to go or at least be painted.

Car in question:

I wouldn't mind the color combo. Just lose the wood, window tint and get the wheels painted gunmetal grey.

Ciao,

Johannes

It sold at auction, right? Means you can find out what they paid...

BTW-There is only one person who's opinion of the color/nterior/wheels matters.... and you can change trim, wheels and even carpet, for not a crazy amount of $$

Heh. Googled the VIN and found this Russian import site:

http://translate.google.com/translat...istory_state0=

Great stuff on the car from Manheim:

Salon (translation of interior I assume):
- Dirty
- Smell in the cabin: smoke

Grading:
2.9 (below)

Notes:
AC CNTRL MALFUNC
Right rear SPOILER FAILURE

Soooo... yeah, unless they'd do an even trade on my Subaru, not even gonna bother emailing.
