Default How tough is the 996 tt engine for track days?

Looking at pulling the trigger on my first Porsche 996 tt. I am looking at a 2002 X50 w/12K miles. Its been modded a little and is blazing fast. I want to take it to at least 4 track weekends a year. Can this car, most importantly the engine, handle 2 days of high revving high lateral g punishment? I had a Z06 and ran it through its paces, however I always had the factory warranty right there and parts were cheaper. My concern is the toughness of the 3.6 tt engine.
Thanks for all your help!

It is the exotic family car. Have a car seat in the back of mine right now! Many on the board do. My 4 year old girl loves the car!

So far she has bought into the 4 seats, I have found and test drove a 2002 X50 996 turbo, 12K miles, the guy is asking $66K, I think its about $10K too much, any opinions out there?

There is a guy just a few threads down selling a super nice one. I can't remember if it is an X50, I think it is not...

The M64/GT1 derived dry sump lump in the back of the car is perhaps the finest production Porsche engine ever built. It's longevity and reliability have set the standard for all future Porsche production engines IMHO.

Proper oil changes, proper turbo/oil cooldown, proper maintenance (and dare I say it, without risking another jihad....proper oil viscosity for your ambient temperatures and track use) and you will have no issues with 4 track days per season.

do not do it. it's like opening pandoras box. 4 track days will be the begining of the end.

Itc, What is the proper cool down for the turbos? Is there a chart for correct oil for specific temperatures?
I have heard the engine was similar to the GT1,

On another note, can you fit a carseat in the back and still have someone in the front? i.e., my wife, lucky for me she is only 5"2" hopefully i will have a little more room in back for a seat.
Thanks!

not if it's a WHITE TT. Then it's worth every extra penny.
