Default Is this Boost Possible?

I have a stock 996tt (non-x50) for 10 months now which consistently maxed @ .7bar.

After replacing an IC hose that had a 2" slit today the car hit 1.0 consistently and 1.1 & 1.2 a couple of times on 3rd & 4th gear.

I purchased the car from the original owner who stated it was never modified completely stock Exhaust, Intake DV's are all stock.

The car feels so much faster totally different.

What could be causing this?

Can this damage the engine with 91 octane - 5000 ft altitude and a completely stock car?

Well there is no way a stock (K16s) will boost at that level....so something is wrong. Check codes first, then check wastegates...My guess is the wastegates are stuck. This could be a problem so get it fixed....

Can you lubricate the wastegates?

Apparently they can be lubricated see here. I would do a thorough inspection of them and perhaps a pressure test to see if they are working properly. Try searching on wastegates or HERE for more info.

Is your car showing 1.0-1.2 bar when you're into the throttle or is it transitory when you let off of the gas?

I bet the car has been flashed despite what the previous owner told you.

Transitory? Not quite sure what you mean....but at WoT....they go to 1.2 and hold there until they either run out of steam or you let off the accelerator.

OK, his first post says he was consistently at .7bar....this is typical of a stock 16K car. Then he replaced the split IC hose (he never mentions why...codes, performance, etc.) He then reports hitting 1.1-1.2....we don't know if this is sustained boost in 3rd or 4th at WOT...so we start guessing. If indeed it is stock then 1.1-1.2 (even spikes) would be unusual...so something is wrong...I still suggest to get the codes read...or we can continue to guess....Happy holidays all.

I get 1.0 consistently unless I floor it WOT then I get 1.1 and did see 1.2 a couple of times.

Due to the poor knowledge (never heard of any tuners or products) of the previous owner I doubt it was flashed.

Also for 10 months of ownership driving the car every weekend I never saw it over .7 bar.

Is there a way to check for a flash just in case?

Bill you need to post one more time to break the 3rd century..

It is my "Opinion" that you something wrong with your actuators. It could be the case of a torn or split control hose or a stuck rod, or worse a failed gate inside the turbocharger..

This all started with my first CEL in 10 months of ownership. I checked the codes with Durametric and got P1250 & P1109.

I then took car to Indy and he found the torn IC hose, replaced, reset the codes and then this high boost problem started as soon as I picked the car up.

I have not seen a new CEL and ran Durametric (no faults).
