Adam said it looked good - he just gave me a friendly reminder to take care in protecting my privacy when posting docs like this.

He's right....there are those unscrupulous folks out there who lurk and look for info to use for nefarious purposes....although I've never tried to cover the license plate numbers of my car in photos. I figure that the four Rhodesian Ridgebacks in the yard are a fairly good deterrent..

Talking

I picked up the car yesterday and so far, I couldn't be happier. I spent a few hours yesterday visiting family in the SF Bay area with the TT and I'm getting comfortable giving it a little juice once in a while.

I start the trip home this morning and will post some photos of the car this weekend.

Ed,

Good luck on the drive home. If you are passing through Las Vegas (I think) shoot me a PM and we can have a quick drink or something so I can check out your new ride.

Cool Here she is!

Between picking up the car, seeing family, and driving home this past Thurs and Fri I put 1000 miles on the car and filled it up 4 times. A few things I observed along the way:

1) When fueling, after the pump automatically stops, DO NOT TOP OFF the tank. Really, the tank is completely FULL when that pump stops.

2) The computer's MPG estimate is almost spot-on. At each filling it reported 0.1 mpg higher than my old-fashioned miles-driven / gallons-pumped calculation.

3) I was over 22 mpg during segments that were 100% high speed highway, and over 18 mpg during segments with mixed highway/city/stop-go.

4) The electronic oil measurement gauge did not register any drop during the entire trip.

5) It's ridiculously easy to go fast in that car and leave tailgaters wondering what happened.

One thing I found out when I got home is that the tire/wheel combination is a larger diameter than stock. The fronts are 225/40-19 and rears are 305/30-19. I should have inquired for further details when they reported front fender rub during max turning. That is supposed to make the speedo read slow by up to 5% but I'm not sure what other impact it may have on the computer's various calculations, or when (not if) I try to lower the car in the future.

Nice looking car; love the color and the wheels....congrats on joining the TT forum....You'll be more than pleased with the performance, looks, and pleasure of driving it.

Your mileage is dead on with most of us....I'm still a disbeliever for the guys who posted 28mpg in a 996TT....but who cares. You've got a great car and that's all that counts.
