Just curious. I have a 2001 TT with about 27,000 miles on it. Is it possible to take a car like this a get it converted into a Ruf Turbo at the Ruf place in Texas. If so, would anyone know about what the cost would be ?

Thanks
Rick

Just google Ruf auto center and/or 996 Ruf rturbo and you'll come across their price packages for conversions. If you want the 550HP conversion, I believe the package cost is about $29K. This is for engine, drive train, exhaust, and ECU reprogramming only, no Ruf body mods. Things like Ruf short shift, peddles, wheels, are all extra cost. Their premises are excellent and they have a huge array of Ruf cars from Germanfy as well as US cars that have had Ruf conversions. Highly competent, highly accomodating, highly reliable IMHO.
PS, I have a 2002 996 Ruf Rturbo I got from them.

Rick, let me know if you send your car down there, I live a few minutes down the tollway and hang out there all the time. I could take pics for you.

Rick

I just traded my Rturbo 550 in on my new BTR. My Rturbo was very fast and had impeccable manners. The Ruf guys are awesome. Call and speak with Hans. Highly recommend. One of the only modifications that actually adds value. Most mods detract from the value.

couple of pics

i just got back from a vacation to Amelia Island Plantation in sunny Florida, except for tropical storm FAY and 4 day straight of torrential rain and 50-70 mph winds, it was a fun time. I also very highly recommend the Dallas guys, either for outright purchases or conversions. I bought my 1998 Ctr2/ Sport, 1986 BTR, and my 1993 BTR, all Ruf Vins, from them. They also sold some of my other cars. All of the staff has been nothing but professional.

Or Switzer. I think that RUF has done a wonderful job making a name for themselves that now command a premium...the goal (realized or unrealized) of evoms, protomotive, and switzer.
