No problem guys..

Manny, I do not recommend the wastegate kit on stock K16's.. Only on K24's and larger K16 hybrids.

Mike: Your car is an "animal"....yet didn't I read somewhere that you intend to sell it? With all you have into that car...you should keep it. Good animals are hard to find.

I'm "thinking" about it, yes.

Believe me, as my wife and I have discussed, this is one I will regret.

Statsman: Well, I guess you guys put the hex on me or something. I spent some time emailng Kevin last nite...then he called me today, and he brainwashed me when I was in a moment of weakness....My VISA card fell out of my wallet...so I bought his flash and the wastegate kit. I'll get together with Adam and do the wastegate mod and install next Tuesday or Wednesday. So much for waiting till the CPO runs out....Damn I hate these guys who don't stay the course....and I'm one of them now. Wishy-washy Pussies.

Hey Chuck, as You can see I do this is my first post. I also have an '02 X50. I picked up Kevin's tune this spring. As you have read it is amazing. I installed his spring kit a couple of weeks after the tune and it was like a totally different car again. I think his spring kit is the best money I have every spent. It for sure the best bang for buck mod. You will be more than pleased.

Nick: Thanks for your candid response. I appreciate you coming out of the woodwork for this.... your first post, and welcome you to the forum as an active member now. It's taken me quite a while to finally decide to go ahead with a flash...after many hours spent reading posts and trying to evaluate the products as well as the authors of the various comments. The sheer number of satisfied clients says something that even Statsman would have to agree with if we were running "stats" on the happy campers. Bill kept gently urging me into this...I think he gets a commission from Kevin.

I was a little unsure of the wastegate upgrade, which truthfully didn't look like it should cost $295 (sorry Kevin) but that too seems to be backed up by a herd of happy campers as well.

I'm looking forward to the install...Adam (ARD) has done the wastegate upgrade and has written a pretty concise DIY on it and I may pick his brain since he's BTDT along with the rather neat way he had for sync'ing the two sides.

Thanks to all of you who have helped guide me thru the maze.

Nope, no commission. If you actually look through my posts regarding folks contemplating mods, I always suggest they talk to the tuners and list several of them...I just found when I talked to Kevin, I was very comfortable in his knowledge, products and service. No problems with blown MAFs with my intake, no broken WG rods, etc.

I have not heard of one person mention of a failure of their UMW wg's. Is there anyone? I may have to give them a try. I have been on the fence about this mod.

Oak, you won't believe what a simple upgrade this is and the effect on performance...no brainer. It sounds like some of the other WGs were bent or bending...not an issue with Kevin's
