Cool New to this (Sub-) Forum, wanted to introduce myself

Hi folks,

I finally updgraded to a TT and I'm happy as a kid !
Had been struggling with the 997 versus used 996TT dilemma over the past couple of months and finally bit the bullet on a used 996TT convertible.

Things actually went way faster than expected. Only 3 weeks ago I put my 996 C2 convertible for sale. I was expecting a 5 month process, but the car sold in 12 hours !
Posted it on Autotrader late on a Monday evening, just before a Wall Street business trip. Get out of my cab in NY the next morning and receive a phone call from a really interested party. Turned out this was the car he had been looking for for months and he wanted it for his wife...for monther's day, which was 4 days later.
The net of the story is ...I cruised to the office on my Ducati for the past couple of weeks. Normally not an issue in Hotlanta, apart from the occasional torrential thunderstorm (I got caught in 2 of them - not fun !)

As I mentioned, I had been zeroing in on my dream car for months and pretty much knew what I wanted : a low mileage, well optioned TT Cab, preferably speed yellow. Spotted a car 2 weeks ago. Ran it through inspection at Champion Porsche in Florida and it passed with success.
Negotiated for a week, brought the price down to where I wanted it, and finally cut the deal.
Still got a scary moment last week when I spotted a boxster in speed yellow. To be honest - that thing was hideous ! Dang, I lost sleep over it and nearly wanted to back out of the deal...

But then finally yesterday it arrived and it was everything I wanted.
I guess only exotic cars can pull flashy colors.
The car came with so many mods I guess I owe you guys another post.
The only thing that is not modded is the engine, so I'm seriously thinking about a flash or some other modifications - as long as it is OK for street car, since this is my daily driver.

The car is a 2004 TT Cab with 11K miles.
Heavy on options : HRE 19 inch rims (the ride is excellent - no issues at all), upgraded suspension, all kind of interior options (including deviated stitching), Sirius,...
Truly my dream car.

Enough rambling now. Enjoy the attached pictures !

More later. Let the modding begin !

Gorgeous car, and gorgeous Duc! I still remember the excitement of watching my car get lowered off the delivery truck and taking it for my first spin around the block. Eventhough I had probably had 30 miles of testdrive in the car when I was negotiating the purchase, that first drive was magic. Enjoy it in good health.

Hey Yves...

Did the dealer say anything about the scarred brake rotor that was pictured? I just noticed on my Expedition, I have a brake rotor/caliper that has the same problem. I wonder if it is from hard braking or just low quality brake pads?
