Part tongue in cheek, part real. The fact is, Tim is looking at a significant DV on an expensive asset. If the respective insurance companies don't come through, you have no other options. This is the world the trail lawyers have created, I see it on a med mal level daily, sucks, but that's reality.
The other option would be to write it off, would you?

Sorry to see this Tim, really sucks. On the flip side, if you were thinking of a few mods like the euro rear bumper and /or GT2 decklid, this would be the perfect time.
Hang in there!

They are commodity vehicles, not limited production vehicles.

If it were a Toyota Camry with the MILLIONS sold then I would say yes.

Tim, this picture could bring tears to any mans eyes. I know the last thing you want is to wait around longer to get the vehicle put back together. Do the mods mentioned above, it will make the wait feel like something positive is being done to your car. Oh, bad things don't really come in three's do they?

Tim,
That sucks. I feel your pain. My RSA was hit from behind in Seattle by an uninsured motorist. This guy was such a loser he told the police I backed into him... on the I5 freeway. I had to foot the deductible myself. I could have sued the guy, but it would be throwing good money after bad... can't get blood from a stone!.
I wish I had of known about the DV thing since RSA's were limited production.

Tim, sorry to see this happen. Whenever someone is too close to my rear end, I either floor it and leave them in the dust, or whip into the right lane so fast that they don't know what to think. Personally, I'm more leery of some soccer mom trying to control her kids instead of watching the road ahead.

Tim, I think that car has bad voodoo. It was a pain for you to buy and it is still causing you heartburn. Maybe that rear end hit will have knocked all the coodies off the dang thing. Sorry to see that happen to you after all you went through to get that car into your possesion. Good luck with the settlement and the repairs.

Thanks guys.
He hit me hard and it is going on the frame machine Monday to x2 check the frame.
I was not pissed as the kid just screwed up. I figure he wasn't intending to do it. He came up to me later and thanked me profusely for not being all mad.
Good thing is I have a close friend that has a body show (did the 993tt) and he will make it perfect.
THe will also take it apart on Monday to see what internals are screwed up. It did run just fine and drive up on the flat bed. So we will see.
I will keep you up to date.
