Default Opinions on Ruger Wheels for a 996TT

May I hear opinions on 19" Ruger R10 wheels/Toyo Proxes T1R tires that are shown on the eBay link below? Is there any reason with those offsets that I wouldn't be able to go with wider tires? I am contemplating on getting these for my Seal Grey 99TT and lowering with H&R Sport Springs.

tire width is based on the wheel width which in these rims is10.5", the off set only applies to how deep the face can be recessed and work with your brake application. the toyo's worked well on my turbo 350Z, low noise good grip when warm and gave you a hint when they were at their limit.

Thanks for your reply. So with a 10.5" width in the back, and the aforementioned offsets, would the following tires sizes be acceptable?

235/35 19 front
305/30 19 rear

Thanks!

The tire sizes might be fine, but you would need quite big spacers for those rear wheels, they're narrower than the stock wheels as well as they've got a higher offset (stock are 11" ET45).

Perhaps with 30mm spacers on each side it would look good (13mm spacers if you want the 100% stock look but especially with lowered suspension, they are too inside the fenders).

I would check out some other wheels made specially for the 996TT...you can find some nice used wheels from 6speedonline for sale forum.

And these are very inexpensive at least: http://www.victorequipmentwheels.com/

How much do they weight? Unsprung weight is the key to a better handling.

I'm presuming this is more for looks than handling. I don't really get the 19" craze, as the ride gets worse, the tires get injured much more easily, and I can't feel the handling improvement ( and unless the last .1 second of lap time is really important to you, whether it is real or not is irrelevant). Thaks Kaizu. The Mulsanne from Victor Equipment Wheels is almost exactly what I was looking for. Now if I can find a place that has them is silver with a fitment specifically for a 996TT I'll be a happy camper!

I bought Victor Equipment wheels at Discount Tire. So far no problems with them and look like nice quality for the price.

May I ask what style, size and finish you chose?
