Am I reading this right? The car has been driven exclusively on the same snow tires (in all seasons) for almost 3 years? What is the tread depth? If your tires are worn down to slicks in the rear, this will explain why you are oversteering in the rain.

Tread depth and tire width are suspect. Wide tires will float a bit in the rain if overdriven.

I wouldn't describe my tyres as slicks since it can be seen from the fotos that are of course less than 50% in depth but there are not slicks for sure

tyre width now is recomended by porsche 265...and other people in this forum do wear this width

"shot" = caput, spent, finished, usable life is gone.

He's suggesting one of the things you should try......purchase new tires.
Bob was also mentioning tread depth........important with winter tires (ie, you can never have too much).

ok concerning the meaning of the word shot.
but can anyone explain why the usable life is gone?
is it because of the depth?
because of the wear?
because of what?

Hard to tell from pictures but my impression from the pictures is:
for summer tires the depth would have me thinking about which tires I will be replacing them with
For winter tires, I would have already replaced them.

The tires are used up because all of the soft rubber with the small horizontal side sipes has worn away. You are now on harder rubber, and with the shallow tread depth, there is no place for water to go, so the car has to float on top of a small layer of water. Is the most worn tire shown the rear? If the rears are worse than the fronts, that would be a good reason for the problem, with skid controls off.
Still, with the skid controls on, I'm a little surprised surprised you are getting oversteer. An easy thing to check is the torque of the lug bolts. Maybe one is loose too. In any case, those tires won't work in snow, so you need new rubber. Good luck. AS

As Gregg and AS said, most of the tread is gone, the wear bars are right there, almost flush. Those tires are no good for anything but a backyard swing. Sorry, not trying to be a smart *** harris.

Why would you want to drive on snow tires year round in Athens?

I think they came on the car, which he recently acquired. just make sure you have the stock 11" rims on the back, common for people to mount 265 snows on 10" rims.
