99firehawk has P/N 996 606 124 00

Bosch Air Mass Sensor 0 280 218 055 (Kevin says: The Bosch P/N is 0 280 218 009)
For models with M620 e-accelerator, for original 996 606 124 00 or updated 98660612501 Porsche units. Please verify part number on existing unit prior to ordering. 1 per car.
Per: http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...0Mass%20Sensor

Well, I verified my original P/N to be 996 606 124 00, and now I have Bosch P/N 0 280 218 055 installed. The MAF has 986.606.125.01 shown as well.

Kevin, now that my obvious shortcomings have been exposed, what sort of ill effects would you expect that I should be experiencing with the incorrect MAF part number?

Please go back to my Stage 3 tuning package thread.. Every MAF is calibrated a certain way.. Anotherwords there is a distinct curve per air flow weighted in grams flowing over each sensor.

The MAF is the heart of the ECU and engine control for BOOST and fueling.. Kind of important..

FYI, while Brads genuine Porsche sensor is not unreasonable.. It becomes more reasonable for someone like yourself who need to buy anotherone (ouch)..

For the record, I sell the correct sensors for $286.00

drh, look at it this way, if you didn't post, I wouldn't have taken the time to check your link..

Kevin,
Since you say I NEED to buy another one, should I assume purchasing the correct MAF from you will make my car run better than it does now?

BTW, I did post before...

Hey guys....I think that in reading back over this thread there were some comments made that really weren't intended to start a gunfight. Maybe the phrase "rip off" was a little inflammatory, but I really don't think it was meant as a direct assault against the guy's persona....it was more of a "Whooaaa...that's a bunch of money for something that's for sale for half that". The seller is trying to recoup some of his investment from the purchase where he clearly got ripped by a dealership....but he didn't know that it was available for half that from other sources. Now that he's informed that he paid way over what it can be had for, I'm sure that he'll offer it for much less...or else keep it as a $450paper weight. I've used some adjectives on these forums, that I never intended to be insulting or inflammatory, but they were taken as such...but there 's no sense in getting our panties in a wad here. I'm sure that Brad is now aware that it's not worth what he was asking. Unfortunately, a third party got involved trying to do the right thing and it's turned a bit sticky.

So...I think the bottom line is......what's Brad willing to accept to get rid of this $450 paperweight? Reasonable offers anyone? And yes....ultimately, this should go onto the For Sale forum. Maybe it should be moved there? Please?

i think that it is up to brad's customer to determine if he/she wants to accept the offer.

drh, I'm just telling you that you do not have the correct MAF. I'm sorry that I didn't catch your previous link on your other thread.
