Default Idiot Lights Flashing!!!

Driving down the highway today I hear a clunk noise from the drivers side rear? Like maybe I rolled over something on the road; kinda clunking.

Then my instrument panel lights up with all these warning lights.... all three ABS warning lights came on; the battery warning light came on and the "!" idiot light came on.

The car was running fine and I managed to wheel it straight into my mechanics shop in town without touching the brake. We did an inspection and everything looks OK. Took a little spin and everything is working OK.

He's gonna put it up on the hoist tomorrow for a closer inspection; as it was 6 PM when I rolled in; but WTF?

Any input here?
I've been lurking on this board; came across from the Pelican board where I've been a member for years; but with the newest purchase of the TT; I've found the best info here and have been consistently learning from all of you guys here; so thanks again! This forum is awesome!

Ordered my 993 Essentials book from Chapters on line today too.

Cheers,
Rob

Get a full readout of the codes and post them.

I'll try, thanks!
I live in a very small town; no shop around here. My local wrench is pretty savy guy, works on BMW, Triumps, Jags, Mercedes and has done a few small things for some of us local Porsche guys; but I dont think he's equipped to pull codes? I'll find out tomorrow, thanks for the post!
Otherwise, I'll try to get into Vancouver Porsche Shop (MCL or Weissach), but I'm not sure how booked they are either? I've heard some good things about the MCL shop and planned to take it there for service work.... I guess sooner than later!
Cheers,

get durametric software and you can get and clear codes...anyway is there an autozone nearby? they can read the codes. Disconnecting the battery will clear faults as well. hope it works out.

Should I disco battery before getting codes read? Or will that matter?
I'm making arrangements for dealership to inspect too.

Thanks, I appreciate your time!

That'll do it...FYI if you disconnect the battery it will clear the codes, but they will be stored in the ECU to be read later.

As per advice from this board, I went to my AutoZone type store and they have ODB readers for $69.00 or so... Very easy to use - and handy to have. I carry it in the car now...
Durametric will tell you more, but for 69 bucks - it's too easy to not have one...

Be sure you have your radio security code before you disconnect your battery...

There is probably a reason your belt shredded. I would look closely at all your pulleys when you get in there. good luck
