Default ABS/PSM light - AGAIN !!!

ABS/PSM light - AGAIN !!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Story is this.
In oktober 2006 i tuned my car with Sportec ECU and RUF exhaust.
Car was running fine 4000 km with 1,1 bar at peak.
Then at full trottle the ABS/PSM light went on with foultcodes 5525 DME torque error. They checked everything. Airsystem for leaks, sensors , changed MAF sensor 3 times etc.
Car was OK again when they changed the motronic box. This cost me 1600euro.
I have to say this is a tiptronic car with 40 000km.

Everything was then ok again for 4000 km. After a trip with hard driving in Germany lately i see 1,2 bar on full trottle. Spesially in 4. and 5. gear from 3-5000 rpm.
Today, at full trottle, my ABS/PSM light went on again. This happened twice.
Stopp and start lights are gone.
I checked with my Durametric. Foultcodes are MAF sensor and 5525 DME.
Only change is that i did a swap yesterday from my everyday 19" Techart wheels to my 18" OEM wheel with Michelin cup semislic tires i will use on track on monday.
After that i will have the verdict. I more problems i will sell the car.

I assume that my ECU box is gone again? Or is 1,2 bar to much.

Anyone have ideas what it can be?

I know Sportec has the dual MAF setup for their higher powered 996TT engine upgrades. Do you have a dual MAF setup? Are you using the stock air box or that sweet Sportec unit?

It is possible your programming/set-up are near the limit...and you are getting TB shutdown or just going into limp because of fuel issues. Can you flash another ECU program (like stock)?

Stateman, i think you maybe have right. I shall not se 1,2 bar. The only modification i have is Ruf exhaust.
1,2 bar is to much on this tiptronic car. My dealer told me today that maybe he could do some adjustment on the wastegate.
I cannot understand why this has changed from 1,1 bar at peak to stady 1,2 bar. It's the same program!!
Engine runs fine alle the time.
Today i was on the track. Car was ok for the first 10-15 laps.
Later, when it was hotter, the ABS/PSM light started to flash again.
I then checked codes. It was MAF sensor and 5525 DME... and another unknows code. After clearing i went home. I then pushed the car to it's limit but i couldn't trig ABS/PSM then.

Can this also be overheating of brakes? 2 years ago i was joining Porsche world roadshow. When i was driving 996tt S this happened (ABS/PSM light came on). They changed the pads and fluid then it was ok. This can happen on 996tt the intructors told me.

Anyway, i think i need a more moderate ECU program now. I'm a litte bit worried for the tiptronic gearbox. Car runs like hell.

My Porsche dealer has a 997 C2S he wants to sell me. But i just want to have my car OK.

See the Performancebox data measured today. This is not extreme figures but maybe to extreme for a tip with only mod. ECU.

I don't think so. In okt 2006 when i was tuning this, my Sportec dealer told me he had to make adjustments on WG. But i don't know what he did.
They will call Sportec tomorrow and have some advice.

Loosen the WG springs 1 - 1 1/2 turns. This will reduce your boost ~ 0.1 bar.
