Default HELP Identify the Connector Game

Found an open ended connector yesterday behind the CD Storage Box below the Radio. It is a straight lnline row connector and has four conductors (Red, Brown, Yel/Blk, Grn/Blk). The Red is Power and the Brown is Ground, that I know. Normally Porsche does not leave connector loose like this, based on my other three cars and those that I have seen. Normally they tie back connectors that are un-used with fabric tape. I'm thinking of shorting the power and the Ground together to see which of the fuses pops.

Anyone care to do an exploritory for me? The component may reside above the Airbag Sensor, which is mounted to the hump just inside the console below the radio. I don't think it is the Navigation System, unless the Nav System uses more than one connector.

I do have one code that shows up on the alarm. When I run the Durametric's program and test the Alarm I have a code that speaks about the "Tilt Sensor...Check for aftermarket Alarm". Anyone know where the Tilt Sensor is located on the car?

I can't remember what option that plug is for again, but I have never seen it actually plugged into anything. Its a great source for switched power if you ever add anything aftermarket

phone kit connector. It has switched and unswitch 12v power, radio mute and ground. I used it to connect a Motorola Bluetooth HF850 phone kit.

Doc, you say it is in the center console, in the same area as the connector I was looking at? I did find the Air Bag Sensor, is it in that same area?

I have a code that shows up that speaks about the "Tilt Sensor...Check for aftermarket Alarm installation".

Thanks,

while you have the phoen plug out, tape over then end, it has a habit of shorting out and it blows the orvr fuse which makes it imposiible to fuel the car
