Condor Man has the 3rd generation Fabspeed. This is a brand new exhaust, which I am also considering, and seems to be much improved over the previous generation product. Time will tell.

These mufflers are NOTHING like the old system. These are the same system we run on the 997TT. I can promise you these have no drone. They should not be compared to the old generation of mufflers. Please read the write up I did on the exahust when tested.

Steve, convince some of us that have been trying to decide on an exhaust to buy your product over a Europipe. Is this a fair question? Why should we buy the new Fabspeed? I did notice that the tubing is slightly smaller in diameter to the Stage II Europipe (70mm vs 65 mm). Is there a backpressure difference as a result of this? What gains if any, can we expect? Is there a significant disparity in price? Thanks in advance for your candor.

I guess for me I believe there are options for everyone. What is the right answer? Well the one that best fits you. Is the EP a good piece? Yes, I ran one on my 996TT for 4 months. Can you/ are you going to justify the cost per HP? The nice thing about the FS unit is it is a lot cheaper and continues to show great gains. I tested 9 mufflers several years ago. FS came out on top. Since that time the number one complaint has never been HP gains, it was drone. Even in the moderate. So they knew they needed to make a change. The result was this and the same unit on my car. The difference is the HP gains didn’t change but the sound did. BP was still less than 1.25 lbs. Keep in mind this is and was the lowest BP recorded. The factory exhaust carries almost 6.25 lbs. Typical gains are 26AWDHP and like TQ.

So at the end of the day it was the right choice for me. It sounds great, my boys can still take a nap on a trip and I DO NOT get a migraine on the way home from work.

PM me about the price.

Default Thanks for the time

Thanks for taking the time to speak w/ me. I'm excited about my decision to purchase the Fabspeed.

As I said, everything you said made sense and appreciate your candor.

My decisions for doing an exhaust are several, but it began because of the programming I started and the need to maximize hp for the increased boost.

After all is said and done, I have a hard time justifying the almost $2K difference in cost, especially when given the representations you made regarding drone. I have an SRT8 and experienced that w/ a set of Magnaflows and switched to Corsa exhausts. That cost only $1200, however the time and pain is what I'd like to avoid.

As the weather turns and I get the car out, I'll keep everyone posted.

I am a very happy Fabspeed customer! Had one on my 1997 993 turbo and on my 2002 996 turbo since new. Currently running Fabspeed straight pipes that sound very nasty!

Being Summer in Australia, I took the car to the beach on the weekend which is more of a highway drive rather than mountain roads, which I had previously taken the car on where you are constantly changing gears and revving the car.

I found that between 2100 - 2900 the car was louder than any other rev range, but at no point was it annoying to me (However, some may find it alittle lound??) Having Stated this, I actually asked my girlfriend whether she thought that it was too loud and she wasn't bothered at all.

If you are going to mod the car, DO THE EXHAUST!! I LOVE MY CAR SO MUCH MORE NOW!!

Regards

Condor Man, did you import the exhaust yourself? Have you any other mods?

I second the "no drone" on the new Fabspeed. Very nice, no comparison to the previous version!
