Any issues with CEL's from the 100 cell cats?

My understanding is that the Fabspeed Gen. 3 is using 200 cell cats.

My bad then. I thought I saw/read that they were 100 cell. Can anyone verify?

Thanks.

Is there a solution for this?

I had to cut and weld the join so that it fit in the middle.

Looks like this may be a production problem.

I just got it installed and I was afraid someone was going to tell me that. Do they have to take it off to do that?

Condor had a different issue which I could have walked them through. The other concern was how far the tips stick out. They out only an inch farther than stock. Out of the 55 units we have sold only one person has brought it up.

The tips sticking out is ok. My issue is the tip is not centered in the cutout provided in the OEM bumper. Each tip needs to be brought about 1 inch towards the middle (license plate) of the car.

If you could give me some "tip" how to fix it would be great.

You need to loosen the whole system back up. Center the tips and tighten them snug, but not overly tight, then work back to the cat. If you do not stabilize the mufflers and tips first in there position and tighten it front he cat out it will never center up.

After 1000 miles the exhaust is a tad bit louder in the 2000 to 2900rpm range but not enough to really change my feelings about the exhaust. People who drive with me in the car no longer complain. The car sounds better across the sonic range and performs better. Period. If you are in the market for an exhaust don't let the stories about Fabspeed drone turn you off cause the difference between the old and the new are night and day. Stephen at IA will take good care of you!
I am not going back to stock that is for sure... but in the same boat of not using it more often due to how loud it is with the current setup (100 cell cats and straight pipes to the tips)....I like the way it sounds but the rest of the neighboors seem not to...

I can't wait for when I have the funds for the next system.... going with this fabspeed as well

Talking Another testimonial

I just finished installing the Fabspeed Ver. 3 system on my car this afternoon. It is everything I had asked for and it is exactly what Stephen at Imagine Auto represented. The sound on start up causes small children and puppies to scatter for cover. After the car warms up, it settles to a nice burble that sounds like an exotic car but is not obtrussive. In driving the car, the exhaust bellows under throttle, the turbos whine, and the throttle response is unbelievably better. Once you hit cruising speed and put it in 5th or 6th gear the car just settles to a beautiful stacatto only slightly louder than stock. My friend with a Tubi on his 996 TT rode with me and he said his is going on e-bay tomorrow. He wants what I have. This is what this car should have sounded like from day one. I am very pleased and the installation was a breeze. My tips stick out about 1 inch further and they centered perfectly. I think the trick is to center the tips and then work your way back to the cats in tightening. There were no alignment issues. I have listened to many systems and I hate drone and resonance. I have listened to earlier versions of Fabspeed and I did not like them. The new Fabspeed is incredible. Fabspeed has hit the combo that was needed to make these cars sound and perform fantastic. I can highly recommend the version 3 system and I would recommend that if you don't have a trusted vendor. Stephen Kaspars at Imagine Auto is the person to call. He is very knowledable and what he is selling is what he has on his personal car. I can't think of a better endorsement!.
