Default Does fender rolling reduce resale value

I have put too large of tires on my 996tt. They don't rub on a regular basis but when I hit a bump at fast speeds it rubs a little bit. Only the rear tires rub but the Ps2's are way too expensive to have them blow out with a fender digging into them. I was thinking about rolling the fenders and was wondering if it reduces value and if anyone knows of a shop in Sacramento area that will do it?

No it will not reduce the value any, that is unless the paint cracks when they do it. You will not even notice any difference. It is only the under lip that will be rolled, inside the fender.

Anyone that knows enough to be able to tell if the fenders were rolled, would be happy you did it.

Try Alex at Shark Werks, he is the East Bay though.

I had to roll my rear fenders & slightly modify the plastic fender liners on the rears to fit a set of 335's in there. It's not that hard of a job. Get a heat gun and a fender roller and your off to the races. A good jack and an inpact whench really make it a breeze.

Took the car to a BWM shop that rolls fenders and when they got the tire off they said that my hub is too large for their tool. They said they can't roll my fenders as the universal tool they have won't work. I called a european body shop and they are going to cut the lip to make the 315 12" tires fit. I have not heard about cutting the fener lip but I guess it is not that big of an issue.

My fender roller needed a little mod to fit my bolt pattern. The hole were on the correct axis, but needed to be extended further out. You can see how they were cut out.

I would say yes, it will reduce the value as any 'mod' will. But, it really depends on the buyer.

check out the eastwood fender rolling tool. you can use shims and M6 bolts and mount to the hub, or you can open up the slots as shown in zippy's pics of the tool. the new eastwood tool has an alternate pivoting point to gain more axis. the older tools didn't have this option. or you can just use a spacer between the tool and rotor/hub.
