Default Need Advice please

Hello Board Members,

i found a very clean 2004 996 Turbo Manual Transmission with 17,000 Miles, the Following Mods are installed in the car:

1) Sports suspension.
2) K-24/26 Turbo
3) ECU Flash
4) Full exhaust system with muffler and headers
5) Sport intercoolers
6) Air Intake
7) Air Filter

with the above mentioned Mods the car was rated at around 575 to 580 HP,
now i am buying the car but without Mods # 1 # 2 # 5 since the owner have sold them out separatley and installed back the factory stock parts ( turbo, intercoolers and suspension)

My questions are:

1) what would you rate the engine power (horsepower) after removal of the three above mentioned Mods ( #1, #2 & #5)?

2) will the engine get damaged after removal of the above mentioned Mods (#1,#2 & #5)and going to stock since the engine was used to a higher power?

Hence: since mods 1, 2 & 5 were replaced with the stock parts the car was never used it was parked for like 2 months until this date with the batteries being disconnected, the car was never abused or raced very clean.

your feed back would be most appreciated.

dont know what ECU flash, but with K-16 (stock turbos) and a good exhaust you "could" be around 480hp.
The story seems funny to me and unless you are getting a "great" deal, there are plenty or these cars around to choice from, why not get one that was not messed with?
Also I dont know what you mean by "race" clutch. Big difference between and upgraded clutch and an actual race clutch. The former is a good upgrade, the later makes the car almost undrivable on the street.
At least have the type one and two overrevs checked and a PPO done before buying.
Good luck!

Hello Tom,

Thanks for the reply, all the mods and the ECU were done by Gemballa, and yes its a racing clutch not a stock upgrade, too bad am not in the USA to have all the other choices that you do, but one thing for sure the car is very clean and never abused, its the only choice i got.

as far as a good deal, it is a very good one indeed, i looked at a similar example 2003 model which was involved in an accident and repaired and offered for sale with no mods for the same price.

I would estimate the HP to be in the range of 480-500.
