Shank,
I tried the ones mentioned in my earlier post. I was concerned about liquids getting under the "solid" ones; the liquid will go through the space where they click together. I was told that because the tiles are raised, air gets under them and the liquid will evaporate. Since I spill water, oil, brake fluid I wanted something that I don't every have to pull up. I went with Kiwi because it looks clean all the time. The dirt that does get down in the tile comes up with a vacuum cleaner. I take my wifes, when she is not home of course, and run it over the tiles, it cleans up the floor perfectly. For liquid other than water, I suck it up with my shop vac.
No sounds when driving on it. They do not move. I was prepaired to cut them with a radial saw but it worked out that they fit perfect in my garage.
All of the tiles support several thousand pounds per square inch; they do support jacks. I even have a 4 post lift, with a car on it, on the tiles with no problem. I have even rolled my 4 post lift around on it with no problems.
Beware of black, they show dirt bad!
Good luck.
Roy

Thanks much RJT. I think that for the money, the tiles that are easily available, and easily replaced when damaged are a man's best friend.
So I assume the 65 C does not drop much oil?

The C, or Helga as my wife calls her, was burning and leaking a tad too much oil. That's why she's up in the air! Four new rotors and calipers and a rebuild of the mill. Gotta have her ready for the 356 Holiday in Ashville NC this September. Over 200 356's have registered so far. They will all be on the front lawn of the Biltmore Estate! That should be quite a show.
Back to the tiles....When I did get oil on the floor, it wiped up clean as can be. I can't testify what the tiles will look like in 5-10 years. But so far, they are working out great! I didn't answer your previous question completely, They do have a tecture or grain and I have not seen any problems with cleanup because of this. Even turning the wheels on the Yukon left and right while on the tiles does not have any negative effect.

Wow....Thanks Guys...
KPV, All those "things" on the ceiling are mint condition, never opened, Porsche model kits in 1/24th, 1/18th and 1/12th scale. I used to build models for a living (only Porsches) and have collected hundreds of kits over the years. I got to work for Jerry Seinfeld for a couple of years, building his cars in scale. Now it's pretty much a hobby, just build for myself or an occasional client.
Zigzagn, The 356 is pretty close to being perfect. She's one of the last C Coupes to roll off the line. Since Porsche was already producing the 901, they were doing things like 12 volt systems on the last 356's and she has some other very rare options. She has won quite a few awards at PCA and Registry concours. BUT she is driven all the time!! She is not a garage queen!
Speaking of Queens... I gotta say that my wife is into the Porsche stuff as much OR more than I am! I've posted this other times before, but check out www.reiser-callas.com and click on teams. JoAnne is my better and crazier half!!!

She's gonna be for sale after the Ashville Holiday! Or maybe even before!! We've got the itch to have a Speedster. Actually I've ALWAYS had the itch, but next year is the 50th anniversary of the Speedster (1954) and there is going to be a PARTY in Monterey CA that will be something we can't miss!! They are expecting over 300 Speedsters alone and all the other 356s, 550s, RSKs etc. etc. will be there to celebrate too. Speedsters will be flown in from all over the world. The Beach Boys ( or is it now Beach Boy ) have already signed to play during the Concours.
There is something that is hard to explain about 356s. It's a different mode....You aren't in any hurry, although she will run 110 all day long.....It's kind of like going back in time a bit....Gotta have the newer ride too, but 356s is where it all started.

Good to hear the better half is not for sale. To be a bit more proletariat for a second, I went to Lowes and Home Depot today and could not find suitable tiles in the colors that I was imagining, and I believe that I may be on the wrong track. Those aren't the sort of "industrial" school and departments store tiles, right? Those are armstrong or otherwise, "high traffic" tiles? If they are then I DID find the SORT of tiles that I was hopingt for, just not the colors.
BTW - LOVE the porsche banner on the ceiling...

The tiles I used are NOT the industrial type. Just the regular residential grade made by Armstrong. I beleive Armstrong has a website that you can browse all of their line, and then take the part # to Lowes and have them special order it for you. If this is what you end up doing, play it safe and order an extra case or two. You might choose a pattern that gets discontinued a year from now and it's always nice to have some spares just in case.
One other thought while we're on it....My garage is heated and cooled. I don't know what the effects of weather, specifically high humidity or very hot temps would have on the tiles. My garage is more like just another room in my house. In fact, my insurance man wrote up our policy describing our garage as a "recreation Room"!!
Good Luck....

RJT - For your own well-bring - please make sure your "insurance man" has insured these models to true value, and any other "memorabilia". Manh times this is not done.
I am an Agent.
I will do just as you suggest with the armstrong site - Thank you.
