I saw these in a Frontgate catalog I recently received. They are made of polypropylene. Does anyone have them or used them?

A friend of mine has them in his "toy" garage and they look great. I think they're a couple years old and seem to have held up well. Great look but I'd shop around on price.

they look similar to Kiwi tiles, a few Rennlisters have those in their garage

I have not seen those but have kiwi. Most of the vendors will send you free samples to look at and try out. I tried a few, and different colors, before ordering mine.

Roy, what made you chose Kiwi? Does it make any crackling/Plastic sounds when your driving over it? Do the tiles move around? Did you do any custom cutting?

Frontgate is a pretty cool catalog, but IMHO, their prices are through the roof. Don't they cater to the airline catalog crowd?

Here's a pic of my garage. I used Armstrong "peel & stick" tiles! Going on 3 years and not a scratch. No problems wiyh using a floorjack either. I've seen Kiwi and similar tile floors that look good but dirt underneath is hard to remove because of the "open" design of the tiles.

I agree with you about Frontgate. They are very expensive. Their saving grace is their incredible customer service. If something is wrong, it is tended to immediately, no questions asked. I guess that is what you pay for. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> I am very selective with the items I choose to purchase from them.

I agree with you regarding the KIWI tiles as I have just taken a look at them. Dirt and liquids can get under them just like the mats in the food service industry. I can see that being a big mess over time. The frontgate tiles are solid and have a diamond plate pattern.

I wish we would of done those, I hear they are easy to clean and they look great. We did a linolium (SP?) floor in our toy garage and it's just a PITA to clean up!

A Few questions for you if you don't mind:

1) Where did you get that great Porsche Crest?

2) The tiles you mention are simply the home depot/Lowes Brand, correct? Have you had any issues with oil getting between them, or do you simply have cars that don't leak and are always spotless? They look "textured" in the pic.

I ask that last question because I was all set to coat my garage with one of those two part epoxies. But if Tiles will deal with jack stands and jacks, then I would rather have some nice color choices in the tiles.

Wow Roy that lotus is absolutely beutiful,Perfect color. I saw one at the Houston Auto Show this year, it is definatley a future investment.
Now back to the tile debate. I definatley wood not use the Kiwis. The kiwis are mainly used by the motorsports industry. They are designed to create a non slip surface fast inside a paddock area that has cement floors. Since motorsports teams are very clean they rarely get dirt under them, so for them clean up is not a problem. And plus they only leave them down for about a week. I
would hate to use them in my home garage. It would be a pain to pull them up after the kids spill a coke or the wife drops a gallon of milk on the ground. But one good place to use the kiwis is under the jack. I think you can buy them as individual tiles. You could buy 4 and use them as a base for the jack to sit on. Or if you have an above ground lift you could put the kiwis uneder the lifts base. This way painted or linolium floors will not be scratched or damaged.

One more idea for the Kiwis, when i get my new house i am going to use the kiwis as a runway for my tires. I am going to have the kiwis lined up so that the tires drive on the kiwis instead of my garage floors. I really hate those marks that the tires leave on the floors.

The large Porsche Crest actually was hanging in Vasek Polak Porsche in Hermosa Beach. When they remodeled a few years ago it went into their warehouse and was forgotten. It showed up at the Porsche Memorabilia Show that takes place every February at the LAX Hilton. I got it for almost nothing!
Yes, the tiles are the ones that are available at Lowe's etc. They were under a dollar per squre foot and have held up to alot of abuse. Besides the 356 in the picture being restored, I also park a 993 C2S and a GMC Yukon and all it takes is a sweep and a mop to get it looking like new. Actually I use my leaf blower every other day to blow the dust out and only mop about once a month.
Like i said, almost 3 years of use and they look brand new!
