Shank,
Actually, I thought that RUF built cars like Armani built suits. When I spoke with them, they indicated they built both wide and narrow body versions, two and four wheel drive, coupe and convertible versions. Each car was personalized. The original RUFs were narrow body and when I saw that Greg's car was a wide body, it prompted my question.

Geoffrey- Ditto as for how I understood it. I was under the impression that Ruf modded the different platforms, and actually your end result depended on what you started out with. A local guy did his 996TT and it was impressive how they arranged the install.

Ruf will build your R Turbo wide, narrow, RWD, or AWD. Its up to the buyer. I am told Mr.Ruf feels the aerodynamics are better with the narrow body. The end result, according to the technicians converting my car, indicated the performance numbers will be very very close in all combinations of R Turbo except in the hands of a professional driver who may squeeze a little more out of narrow RWD.

Greg,
It's my all time favourite. Pity cars here in Singapore cost a bomb. I bought my 930turbo for US 60k and spent a lot on restoration and the BTR conversion.
I hear that Ruf has 3 different stages for the R turbo conversion? Isit true?

The basic R Turbo is 520hp, the next stage is 550hp (which Ruf will upgrade at no extra cost if you start with an X50 car) and Mr. Ruf's favorite package, the "Nardo," with 590hp.
I am curious to know what the performance numbers on the Nardo package are like!
