Lightbulb GT3 vs. Pole Position Seats

I recently had the opportunity to sit in a GT3 seat and although very well engineered and constructed, it was a little bit narrow for my taste.

The only other seat possibility, that exists in the same category, is the Recaro Pole Position.

Pictures of both are below (I borrowed yours Gert, I hope you don't mind).

Now, I have several questions:
</font><ol type="1">[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Since Recaro makes all of Porsche's seats, I assume they also make the GT3 seats.....correct?</font></li>[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">If you look closely at the GT3 seats and compare them to the Pole Position Seats, it appears the bottom 2/3 of the shell is identical...correct?</font></li>[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Is the only difference between the GT3 and Pole Position seats the top part at the harness insertion slots and headrest?</font></li>[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Are pole positions any wider in the seat/hip area than GT3 seats?</font></li>[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">If so, does anyone have width measurements of each?</font></li>[/list=a]<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Any help would be greatly appreciated. <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />

You may know this: The Recaro seats have different widths for those of us with, uh, wider rears. I have Cobra seats, and both pass and driver I ordered the wider versions. Very beneficial for everyday use, and its snug anyway.

I would assume that the GT3 seats would be a bit wider just for the same reason - they come on a production car and can not be TOTALLy restrictive.

Have you sat in a seat with a full thigh wall instead of that back rest related wall with the angle down?

I personally found it 5 times more confortable:

I'm not sure if there are some wider models of the Pole Position seat available, but at least the ones I have in my 951 are actually very comfortable... and I've got a fat *** for sure, 240 lbs or so

chad - you may want to do a search on the 993 boards...plenty of posts on GT3 vs Pole Position vs RS seats and their comparative fit, etc.

Sami951,
I am surprised that the GT3's felt tight to me. I am 6'-0", 205 pounds with an athletic build. I just envisioned the leather getting abraded over time from the constant rubbing of my pants getting in and out.
John,
Do you have any photos of the EVO Seats?
Caneaddict,
I do not have pics of that car but here is a similar one.
