Post World ET Record On Street Tires

The world record on drag radials is 8:39 in the 1/4 mile held by a supra. If CJV went as fast as he says on the michelins the record might be his after his next test session.

Hey George, I have asked several times for a photo of your 911-V8 swamp monster. Others are also interested. Can you please post a photo?

I'd like to see a picture of a V8 engined 911, if such a thing exists........

I don't recall CJV saying anywhere how fast he went. He made a couple of comment about some times between points, that were rough recollections, then all the internet dreamers and fact-spouters jumped on him...

If CJV did high-nines or even low 10s that would be an awesome achievement and probably a record for a true street-driven modified 911 (I await to be corrected).

There is no way he would claim to be in the 8's. I owned a 4wd Skyline GTR32 that dynoed 831bhp at the wheels, weighed about 1300kg, had a 6 speed sequential gearbox and still only ran mid-nines on drag radials.......

You should try this test in Sacramento in Junuary/February, when the temp is in the mid 50s High 9s for sure....

You are pretty much spot on in your evaluation. Earlier I stated, the best super modified times of the day were in the high 9.90's and we were not one of them. I don't see how there could be any misunderstanding about my car being in the nines on that day with that statement. The track temperatures were hovering at 100 degrees. We believe the high nines could have been a possibility with a better launch and cooler temperatures. However, we will not be disappointed with low or below mid tens.

CJV
If what ben said about infineon is true then you will only get one run (I assume you don't have a parachute). The difference between doing one run and doing several runs could be at least half a second if you don't get a good launch on your first run. So again why aren't you doing the tsting someplace more conducive like Sacramento. I wouldn't want to do all that work and then leave it all up to one run where anything could go wrong.

Heya chad,

Speaking of removal bars that got added.. is there anyway you can put me in touch with the right people that did yours. I have the tequipment roll bar and wanted to do a removable side door roll bar...

Thanks...

Alex,

The acceleration test is being done for the benefit of Dave Colman and his feature article. To do this test we had to make modifications to the existing roll bar (door bars, side bars). These were made to be removable. After this test, the quarter mile runs for my car will be history). ( for some for me) On to the track tests .
