Upsolute Performance Chip
Hi all. Do not ofter post here, but technically speaking, this is the best board for that info.
I have questions about the Upsolute chip. The regional Upsolute rep is here in Charlotte as I am, so I'm leaning towards them. Who does the installation? Do you give them your DME to convert or is the chip a piggyback? Is the perfomance better? Where in the rev range is the performance most noticeable? Any residual problems, i.e., check engine light, engine miss, hard to start, etc? Does the chip void the Porsche warranty? Sorry for all the questions, but before I ad a chip, I want to be sure I'm doing the right thing. Thanks.

I'm in the same boat and considering those guys as well. I know of one Turbo owner who has been Upsoluted and loves it. Had no problems etc...
I'm going into LA to have it done there at their place. Apparently a new version (socket) is available so that you can swap you chip in and out, from stock to modified, whenever you want to.

I have heard enough good things that I'm going for it. My engine is out for a coolant leak, and the dealer is cool with having the programming done for me (they do EVO for customers under warrantee "wink wink"). I figure it is worth paying them for a little labor and profit to have their support just in case.

I'm doing it with a Tip and apparently it's no hassle Should be ready and in my car by the end of next week. Close to 100hp gain can't be bad You should also slap in some better DVs if you plan on running more boost.

That's what I "should" do, I guess everyone seems hooked on the baileys as opposed to the forge ones. I did get the baileys but am getting thos einstalled right after the chip. I actually want to test out the difference. I already had "surging" with the stock chip and stock DVs so a before and after with more HP should be cool. In fact, my local dealer is considering selling them as replacement parts for all TT owners.
From what I'm hearing/reading it seems as though the plastic ones are just going to fail even at stock boost levels.
Will let ya know how it goes. Fingers crossed
