Post Insurance Costs?

Traded in my Targa for a Turbo today!
My insurance company called and said they needed the underwriter to approve the insurance. They need to do so on Monday???

If possible, please post how much insurance you are paying on a 996TT, name of insurance company and your location.

Maybe I should switch providers?
I am in Long Island, NY.

Thanks for your help!

Dan

You are getting bonked. You should change insurance companys.

I am paying $1,800 per year with a $1,000 deductible. Carrier is Fireman's Fund and is part of their "gold star" or whatever it is called program that is for nicer cars so you get better benefits and services.

Liberty Mutual, $1K Deductible.
Do you mind if I ask how much and who you are using? We live a couple hours or so apart.

GEICO, but my quote is nearly $3,000 per year which seems high, so I was thinking about changing companies. They have been very competitive on my other cars.

Cool

I carry all my insurance through one company, Allstate, so I might be getting a better deal than the rest of you, but everything I see is really high.

I have a 996tt w/X50 located in rochester, NY. I pay about 1100 per year w/$1000 deductible. For my GT2, which I keep in California, I pay $750/year with $1000 deductible. New Yorkers get screwed. And you have lousy weather. And a loser baseball team.

I'm glad I live in California most of the time.

2400 sounds reasonable. I pay $1600 on my C2, quoted $2100 on a TT

A lot depends on your age, driving record, having more than one car on the policy, collision deductible and whether you insure the car as a "pleasure" car (i.e., limited yearly mileage). Limited yearly mileage can really lower your rate, especially when the car is garaged at your home.

OrangeMarlin,

You really have some ***** man. Why do you feel the need to come on to this board and lie? I mean, why are you tring to impress people that don't even know you?

I have 4 cars, 3 homes, 2 motorcycles, and a contents policy that'll make your eyes water, a couple of million dollars worth of life insurance ALL THROUGH STATE FARM and I have never made a motor vehicle claim in the 11 years I have had my policy with them and my 996 C2 is right at $2,000/year. Even $10,000 motorcycles (of which, I have 2) cost $600 and $700 per year and they're a fraction of the cost a GT2!!

Let me tell ya, I ran the details of insuring a 996TT through Progressive.com using California state minimums, a $1000 deductable, 57 year old driver, no claims, no tickets, etc. In other words th ebest you could get. The amount, $1,824 per year. And that's a car $70,000 cheaper than the GT2!! I'd love to hear your explanation as to how you get your insurance through Allstate of all companies at such a low price.

I pay about $1320 per year on my 2002 TT. I have Allstate, with 4 cars on the policy, along with our home insurance. I have a clean driving record, I'm 40 years old. That is with a $500 collision deductable.

Othello...done fighting you sorry. I pay $750 a year for my GT2. And I'm not 57 years old

Since you called me a liar, which you shouldn't do without facts, I will gladly forward my insurance bill to you. Just tell me how.

And why do you have to list out everything you own? I don't care, and probably 97% of people on here don't care.

Again, I'm not going to fight with you. I really do pay $750 a year.

Brilliant idea. When I return home, I'll photograph it, trying to eliminate personal information, and see if I can post it. This may take work.
