Post X50 in MY96?

Just to let you all know, the X50 option was available since MY96 for the ROW market. my car a 1996 993turbo came with it, 430ps, extra oil cooler. Basically same engine as the MY96 GT2, seems Porsche is very repetitive.

Yeah, the X51 package on the standard Carrera has been available for years as well.

We always get the short end here.

Pre MY 2001 the cupholder was, as best I could tell, to rest the beverage on the seat, against your crotch, gripped moderately between your legs. Best practiced with a paper towel or two under the beverage, and with the container less than 2/3 full. Needless to say, accidents with either hot or cold beverages could lead to an unpleasant sensation.

Enzos_nightmare:

I hope you are not fooling around with this. The X50 is a higher power factory installed option for the Turbos, back in 96 it was installed by the "exclusive" program abd consisted of (according to Paul Frere in Porsche 911) a different DME, higher boost .9 bar, extra oil cooler and a different exhaust (I checked my exhaust part number and was the same as the rest turbos). This was basically the same engine package offered for the street GT2's, it uprated the engine from 408ps to 430ps.

Fast forward to 2002, the new turbo is offered with the same option code (x50), which now delivers around 456ps up from 420ps. The factory kit consits of upgraded turbos (k24), different DME, larger intercoolers and maybe some other stuff, I really dont know the details, I own a 993; but then again, its basically the same setup of the GT2.

Hope this clears up the X50 option. And please, correct me if I'm wrong on anything.

djimenez,

you are right about the 430hp version. different dme plus aditional oil cooler and stock exhaust but different exhaust tips.
it was supplied through the exclusive program when ordered with the car and it is supplied through the techquipment program when ordered afterwards.
interestingly techquipment currently sells the 450hp version which includes k24's for nearly the same price !!!!!!!!!!!
