Here is a picture of a TT with 20" HRE's... Has anybody else done 20" wheels? Is this just completely over the top? It seems like many have gone to 19", but some of the most radically modified cars still stay on 18" wheels. Is there any real point, other than aesthetics, to go any larger than 18"?

Michael, to me those don't look like 20s, they look more like 19s, similar to what Mansour has here. You can go 20" on a TT I'm sure with the right tires and an assload of massaging to the fenders, but will notice a decrease in performance, greater harshness over lousy roads and high performance tires for 20" wheels cost a lot too. Personally, I'd stick with the OE size or 19" if you want some more rim, 20s are a bit overkill and unnecessary on a performance car.

They are 19s - and that car is dropped.
I was told 20s would definitely rub. Also, I do not think 20s would fit the rear axle as my 19s are already really close to the fron part of the rear arch (behind the door!!).

They had a 996TT awhile ago at a car show out here w/ dubs on it.
Also, you guys are talking an 1", it's nearly impossible to tell that from just a picture.

soon2be, I know what you're talking about. There was a turbo at the LA Auto Show the year the car came out either in the Giovanni or Lexani booth and it was sitting LOW on dubs, it looked f'ing hot but I'd never drive that on the street unless I was either strapped or had my bodyguards in your Suburban behind me.

Zamirz, yea, that was one of the ones i'm talking about, it looked good, but would I drive it no?
Msindi, 20's are possible but why would you want to? You have 19's already you'll soon learn you are just wasting money. But yes, you could put 20's on your car if the urge was really there. I thought you didn't have a job yet money bags
20C4S, you are good then, because i've been slapping on all types of big wheels on cars for some time, and it's still real hard for me to tell rims that are an inch apart from far away or from a picture.
