GT2 Thrill Ride at PES!
Unbelieveable, heart-stopping, amazing, insane, scary, phenomenal, stupendous, beyond belief! These are the words and phrases that immediately came to mind today. After having some recent dialogue with the guys at PES Tuning in Pennsylvania, they cordially invited me to stop by for a ride in one of their latest creations. It was a near brand new Arctic Silver GT2. Now, this was not any GT2 mind you, this was a pristine example in a most incredible color with PES's Stage 4 kit to boot!
Tony Ricci (President) and Colin Miller (Sales Representative) run the show over there
http://www.pes-tuning.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?
and they wanted me to experience first hand the performance of their Stage 4 kit. Great marketing effort guys!
The actual kit consists of a computer upgrade, headers, Diverter Valves, air filter, full exhaust and clutch. Since the GT2 already has K24 turbos, they stay put whereas the TT kit includes K24's to replace the stock K16's. All of this "stuff" brings the car's specs up to a conservative 603 engine horsepower according to Tony.
So, we buckled up and he started the car. The exhaust emitted an aggressive growl, not annoying but definitely in congruance with what I was about to experience. As we pulled out of the driveway he short shifted through several gears to allow the engine to warm up. We continued our conversation about the kit and related car stuff.
As we approached the end of the street, we made a left and that was when life as I know it changed forever!
Tony planted his right foot and the the electrical impulse informed the computer that it is time to scare the daylights out of Ken.
With nary a millisecond of thought, all I knew was the intense beating eminating from my chest cavity. At this point, I believed we were doing Mach 6 when Tony decidedly showed off the handling prowess of this great beast. He expalined to me that he had three kids and I have nothing to fear. I think his reasoning was that he wouldn't jeopardize his own life much less mine. Nice try! That wasn't enough to make me feel any better. Where is my diaper!! He continued on about his PCA driving school experience as an instructor but that also did not suffice. As he carved through the turns of these deserted industrial park street curves, I came to the realization that this was a life altering event and I was experiencing it first hand! The sheer exhilaration of the Stage 4 GT2 experience cannot be put into words. I among others, sit behind my computer and read these posts about horsepower, torque and handling and, as Tony put it, relate it to our own individual experiences. We have all driven our own TT's and know they are fast, but they are not really fast. This Stage 4 GT2 is really, really fast. Faster than anything I have ever had the opportunity to drive or be driven in. Until you have had the opportunity to experience the seat of the pants, kick in the back, neck snapping, pulse elevating excitement and immediacy of a car of this performance level, they are all just words on a forum.
Kudos to PES and thanks again guys. It is an experience I will not soon forget. Keep up the great work!

it's amazing what a real high HP car will make you feel like. I got to drive a 9 second mustang a few years back and I still feel my heart beating from when I stepped on the gas the first time

Just read through my Excellence and YES!! EVO, PES and Imagine Auto all have an ad together (p.47).
It is good to see three different companies all working together as this maximizes benefit from research and ensures that we the customers get the best end-product.

Yeah, the problem is their "coming soon" 700hp package had been developed by Protomotive 2 years ago. Well it seems that S-Car-Go, with development help from Protomotive, has seemed to nail it down too with Chad's car. It takes 3 tuners all this time to come up with 700hp when a little shop in Temecula developed it in 9 months?
Not trying to start a flame war, but it makes you wonder....
Notice how several of the tuners and board members who used to question cjv and Wilber's use of Garretts are all going that direction now.

Soon2be is right. We nor EVO will release anything on the stages until it is 100% approved by all parties to be problem free and anyone user friendly. This has been part of the issue with the switcher. We have been testing it on my car since Nov/Dec and still haven't released it. With all due respect to Wilber and CJV these systems are not packable nor problem free. These systems have been custom built and funded by both Wilber and Chad. I can make a 1000HP if someone was willing to go after it, but it is not practical.
Hamann7, Nothing has been released for stage V as of yet and not everyone will join the 700 club on Garrett turbos, nor need big boost to do it.
