You haven't said how you would use the car. Different uses would dictate different cars. If you plan to mainly use the car on a twisty track then the Zonda would probably be ideal. If youlike racing oval where top speed is a concern, the Koenigsegg. If however you are looking for an exotic supercar to cruise on the weekends then the C-GT would be my pick. The reason is that with track cars you should expect maintenance issues. But, if all you are doing is cruising then you shouldn't have to deal with all the issues that arise with specialty cars. If something comes up, you have a Porsche dealer nearby and can be back driving the following weekend instead of waiting months.

Joe, just out of curiosity, I noticed either you or the guy who has the watch screen name, mentioned Warren Buffet a couple of times in that locked down topic, hahahahahah. Even if you didnt mention him, this question will still pertain to you. Anyways, I was wondering if you have read any of the Books on him, or rather, his investing techniques. What are your thoughts on him? And do you use any of his techniques. Ive read and summerized alot of his stuff, and i think it is extremely useful if your considering going into the investment world. Basically the only reason for this post is to make me feel good. I like talking, or typing with successful investors. It encourages me to keep on studying, and working hard in everything i do, so that one day i will be successful. Thanks
And sorry for the off topic Post ladies.
Ill move this over to the off topic forum if it gets to long.

Joe have you considered a Spyker? I saw these at LeMans last year and really liked them and this year they did better on the track so they seem to be improving them. If unique is what you want, hard to beat the uniqueness of the interior.

Good to see us back discussing cars Joe!

Nothing particarly insightful to offer I'm afraid, but just to chime in on my personal thoughts of the McLaren F1. I've only been in the seat of an F1 in a showroom, but it's a beautiful car, an inspiring car.

I don't think the "numbers: i.e. skid pad tests" apply to this car - even though it's obviously not a classic, it definitely has a stature beyond other exotics except, perhaps for the newest: Enzo, Carrara GT...

And it's not going to depreciate much, if anything, either. Of course, you're looking at much, much more to get into the car than the first two suggested, so it might be a mute point.

Just as a side note - It's interesting that the F1 has arguably held the super-car bragging rights for some years now. An engineer at McLaren has been quoted as saying that this has stunned the folks as McLaren - they all expected the F1 to be summarily eclipsed by a new offering from Modena within a couple of months of the F1's release... It looks like that is just going to be happening now, more than a decade later!

IMO, the number one trump card of the Mclaren F1 has been its light weight. Weight is the most important factor when it comes to vehicle performance. If you compare published weight and horsepower specs, the Koenigsegg CC is the only car that comes remotely close to matching the Mclaren F1. Both cars seem to weigh ~2400 lbs.

OTOH, top speed has virtually nothing to do with weight and everything do with HP and drag.

You want exotic and exclusive, try the Pagani Zonda Roadster. Its probably the most beautiful design next to every lamborghini and it looks and performs like the C12S. The car is also made to your body specs, so hows that for exclusive. Theres only 40 or so being made. Saleen looks overdone...and again...Americans have always left passion out of their designs. Very boring cars. Go Italian. Just make sure the service methods on a car like that wont ruin your ownership experience. I dont enjoy being without my car for more than a month at a time.

In the latest C/D, the Saleen was said to have been designed about normal maintenance. The front lip can hold the front of the car up, the starter motor can be replaced easily, etc.
