I used the search function first, of course, and found that the GT3 seats actually give extra headroom.

Are there any other products that will increase the headroom? I've read elsewhere that Recaro seats can actually decrease headroom.

you need aftermarket side mounts that are shorter (lighter ......aluminum vs steel.....too)

Aaron if you switch seats the GT3 seats are the way to go.

I needed the extra headroom, so I ordered my Turbo with sunroof delete (adds ~1.5 inches of headroom). I also like the clean lines in the roof without the black outline of the sunroof cutout...

This thread is getting me very excited. I had turned away from the 996tt because I thought I was too tall - no matter what seating position my head hit the roof and I couldn't see the speedometer through the steering wheel. I think that buying a sunroof delete car and then installing the seats will do the trick.

Now I just need to convince myself this is the car over a slighly used 997S, Cayman, M Z4, and Z06. The comfort factor only adds a couple thousand to the car (seats).

I drive with my seat full down (OEM rails) and the top of my head still brushes the headliner...even with the sunroof delete option. I can't see the tach above the 3 and 5, but no problem seeing the digital speed.

Finding a sunroof delete Turbo might be a long process...they are rare.
